Rowallan Castle Golf Club

The staff gave us such a warm and genuine welcome, making the day memorable from the start. The course itself is beautiful, with castle views and elevated holes adding to the charm. Some bunkers were a bit wet, and although our score were poor, the kindness of the staff and the setting more than made up for it.

Got take on by a member on Sunday, it was superb.

Affordable, gorgeous to the eye and the quality of the course keeps you entertained all the way through. Plus the bonus par three to finish, what a treat at the end!

A superb test, it’s long and I managed to find pretty much every bunker along the way. Warning they aren’t small!

Had a coffee and a roll in the club house before and lunch anfter and it was all great, good to see service with a smile still lives on! What a gem of a Golf course.

Rowallan Golf Course is a real gem in Ayrshire. The setting, with Rowallan Castle in view, makes for a memorable round. The course is beautifully maintained, with true greens and a layout that challenges without being punishing. Staff are welcoming, and the clubhouse has a relaxed, friendly atmosphere with great food and drink. A course that combines history, scenery, and great golf – highly recommended!

I have played rowallan a few times now and the course has improved massively year on year. The layout is world class and a true test of golf. Hard to find a better parkland course in the west coast. Small areas of improvement needed like all courses but would thoroughly recommend

I brought some good friends from South Africa to play golf around Arran and Ayrshire. Our day spent at Rowallen Castle was the pinnacle of our trip. From the beautiful setting, the course layout and the wonderful welcome and attentiveness we received was exceptional. Our day was rounded off with a fantastic 3 course meal at the Glasshouse. The course itself is of an exceptional standard we were just a bit unfortunate that it had rained a lot the previous day.

I really didn't know what to expect but man was I treated to a wonderful day at this amazing course. I played alone but got to really take in everything about the course. First of all, the price is really affordable for the quality of the course. The greens are well cared for and the speed was decent. I really like the design and layout. Tons of variety and no holes looked the same. And there was a lot of thought put into the layout as there are plenty of well placed bunkers to make you think about your strategy. A couple bunkers probably need a top up but otherwise the course was in great shape. But the staff are really the MVPs of Rowallan. They are all so friendly and helpful. I highly recommend this course!

I can’t recommend this course enough, it’s truly a delight to play- with challenges throughout the 18 holes. The views are equally stunning . The course itself is in excellent condition for playing. The Glasshouse restaurant offers a superb menu at the end of the round

I have been a member here for years now and consider it to be a home from home. The members and staff are second to none and the place has a real community feel. The course itself is coming on year on year and is a fantastic test of golf. The facilities are awesome, from the amazing Glasshouse restaurant to the castle facilities for club events and on site lessons from a top PGA pro in Ross Aitken, the overall experience is absolutely amazing. Can’t recommend enough.

The course has improved so much, and presents golfers of all skill levels a good test, which can feel like a different animal off the back tees, it more than hard enough off the forward ones too.

I would urge anyone who hasn’t played it, to do so, and anyone who played more than 3 years ago to give it another go, you will not be disappointed.

A truly great setting and layout, from the drive in to the friendly welcome in the pro shop, this golf course whilst fairly new in golfing terms has really embedded in and offers a real test to any golfer of any age. Can’t speak highly enough about the staff around the estate and the food in the glasshouse is truly amazing. Well done all at Rowallan Castle Golf Club it is well worth a visit.

Great course really friendly helpful staff. This is a really well set up course and with me being a high handicap it was pretty difficult. Greens were super fast compared to what im used too. Felt pretty long but I'm not sure if 18 holes the day before or all the extra shots I hit out of the numerous bunkers I found myself in. I did really enjoy it all the same and enquired about becoming a member.

Played Rowallan Castle GC again today after a throughly enjoyable first visit with my golfing buddies the week prior.

You can see the hard work the ground staff have put into this wonderfully challenging layout. Fairway bunkers are numerous and well placed, but are balanced with wide accommodating fairways.

Into the Glasshouse for afters post round should be a mandotory experience for all. The facility should really be renamed the 'Classhouse' . A beautiful restaurant with professional staff to keep you fed and watered.

Rowallan Castle, we will be back.

Second time playing this course and once again in immaculate condition. Tricky but very enjoyable and challenging course. 19th is a great addition and helped my partner and I win the day! Food and staff great afterwards too. Will be back
