Sewailo Golf Club
About
Sewailo Golf Club is part of the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, a luxurious resort run by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The course's name, Sewailo, means "flower world" in the Yaqui language. When the idea of creating the golf course was first formed, the tribe enlisted the help of fellow Native American and PGA Tour player Notah Begay III as well as renowned course architect Ty Butler. The team fully utilized the rugged landscape, crafting a championship layout with a range of shot values and a variety of hazards. The bunkering is minimal but strategic, added to complement the natural features rather than overpower them. There are also lakes and meandering streams that come into play. Sewailo Golf Club has five sets of tees with the longest stretching to 7,400 yards.

Tee off was delayed 20 minutes. That makes it difficult to get a full round in when your suppose to start at 3. Club house was closed when we came in Would be nice to have a snack bar or restaurant open when finished.
Below Average
It started with a chicken sandwich that took 20 minutes. The starter had no sense of humor. Not sure if he had a pulse. There had been a 30 min frost delay. OK! But, 4 hours later, they were still 30 minutes behind. Our 5 hour round finished in the twilight. Never saw a marshal the entire round. Apparently, nobody rakes traps. Traps that were lacking in sand. But, the hardpan was plentiful. The greens were badly pocked. The slope/course ratings are also suspect. Absolutely not worth the price. After the round, the bag drop had a traffic jam that could only be avoided by driving against one way streets. After escaping this badly run course, we went over to the casino for what might have been one of the worse meals I’ve ever had.. Never again
Great course! Rude staff
Course is in great shape and fun to play. I enjoy the carts with gps. Staff was extremely rude to include staff at bag drop, clubhouse, and the Marshall. Rudest staff I have ever been around. The course somewhat made up for it.
Always a treat to play Sewailo
We enjoyed our day at Sewailo. The course was in good shape and I like the variety of holes. Pin placements on the day we played were somewhat difficult but fair. My only negative comment is that the fairway lies were very tight. It would have been more enjoyable to have a little more grass on the fairways.
Sewailo Golf Club
It’s a championship layout, but it’s not treated like one. Reasons, pace of play is way to slow, it took 4:45 minutes to play 17 holes and we didn’t finish due to darkness, no ranger ensuring groups are keeping up with pace of play. Saw people stuffing their golf bags with alcohol in the parking lot and bringing it onto the course. Groups not repairing their ball marks, way too many ball marks on the greens, people not raking traps. The course is a challenge, which I prefer, but it’s too much golf course for the average or below average golfer due to narrow landing areas, large deep bunkers and fast greens. If they can get a ranger and keep the pace of play to 4 hours than I would come back and play and recommend this course to others, but they need to fix the pace of play problem, disappointed.
Cold and windy
We booked a tee time for the wrong day but they were great fitting us in. The course was very nice but would be more fun on a warmer/less windy day. Overall conditions were very good. Visually it is never as nice looking when the rough is brown/dormant but the fairways were nice and green and the greens were in good shape
Great course
Fun course to play, we played in very windy weather but had a great time will be back
Best value course in Tucson area
This is a challenging course with 18 different holes that have beautiful green fairways (something lacking at a lot of courses that don’t overseed but still charge full pop). The greens are in great shape and will actually hold a golf ball (with a little height and spin; some courses greens are so hard that balls don’t even leave a mark).
Our front nine was a little slow but played at a good pace on the back. Good practice facility. Definitely will play again if the price is right.
Best value in area
Sewailo is consistently a great place to play. Great layout, conditions and the nicest staff around. Pace of play was fair, 4 1/2 hours, seemed longer because the back nine took 2 1/2 hours. Not sure why it takes some golfers so long to hit and chase a golf ball, but it isn't the course's fault. Our favorite course in the Tucson area.
Tons of Fun
One of the best Golf Day ever.Weather Pace etc.
SLOW
Took almost 5 hours to play 18. Had a junior group from Utah causing major backup. No Marshall, no Ranger to speed play. Green were potted with ball marks everywhere. Nice course buy pace of play and green making me rethink of playing her again.
Great round of golf.
Always an extraordinary round of golf. Tough course but always fun.
