Sewailo Golf Club
About
Sewailo Golf Club is part of the Casino Del Sol Resort in Tucson, a luxurious resort run by the Pascua Yaqui Tribe. The course's name, Sewailo, means "flower world" in the Yaqui language. When the idea of creating the golf course was first formed, the tribe enlisted the help of fellow Native American and PGA Tour player Notah Begay III as well as renowned course architect Ty Butler. The team fully utilized the rugged landscape, crafting a championship layout with a range of shot values and a variety of hazards. The bunkering is minimal but strategic, added to complement the natural features rather than overpower them. There are also lakes and meandering streams that come into play. Sewailo Golf Club has five sets of tees with the longest stretching to 7,400 yards.

Great Golf Course!
Perfect conditions and prefect weather. Course is in outstanding condition. Pace of play was a bit slower today but overall finished in 4 hours and 15 minutes. Lots of water on many holes and lots of sand traps on the fairway and around the green. Bring a few extra balls! :-)
Play this course !!!
Excellent shape, friendly staff
Fair price for getting to play this course.
Predictably good always
Outstanding course conditions. Greens were very true. Pace right on 4:15.
Great value for the price. Will play here more frequently. Just wish it was closer to home!
Sewailo
Rode the Ruby tees (6825/71.2/133) in 4H, 15M twilight with Felix and Adam. Locals who play here alot and were great to be matched up with. Sunny, breezy and in the mid 90's. $59 twilight Sunday was good value for this course.
U of A home course, also hosting the Ladies Symetra Tour this coming week. Really enjoyed the layout that was in excellent condition overall. It has taken me several years while visiting my daughter and son-in-law to make it around to most of the Tucson area courses. Sewailo IMO ranks #3 behind the two Ventana Canyon courses and ahead of several other well known courses that have hosted the PGA, Champions or LPGA Tours. A few tight shots, but most holes have wide fairways with huge greens surrounded by plenty of traps. Plenty of water and native areas to catch anything wayward.
Tees very lush and well maintained.
Fairways were excellent, near immaculate status. Appropriate I played this course on Masters Sunday, because these fairways were very Augusta like with great roll out.
Rough was mowed down and not overly penal, just unlevel poa that products iffy lies.
Sand traps were the weak link, just okay. Decent quality sand, just needed more of it.
Greens were large and challenging. Had a terrible putting day on these greens, had challenges with both the break and the speed. But they were smooth, firm and medium fast.
Difficult layout that stretches to over 7300 yards for the real guys. Some nice risk/reward holes and a few absolute brutes... #10 was a 618 yard par 5, then #11 was a 481 yard par 4 and both were considerably longer if playing the tips.
Excellent customer service from everyone. No drink cart or on course water stations. Carts had an ice chest, divot mix and GPS. All grass driving range with good Callaway balls included. Highly recommended.
Best of the best
Friendly staff, fluffy bunkers, crispy fairways, and clean greens! What more could you ask for?
Only one complaint
The mobile snack cart had only potato chips! I was all geared up for a Snickers bar or a bag of peanuts or almost anything mildly nutritious. Dissapointing for such a first class course.
Beautiful and challenging
Scenery outstanding. Course was very challenging but the views made it all worthwhile. Accuracy a must in hitting to the ideal locations for ball placement. Our foursome Played 18 holes in 4 hours and ten minutes with waiting only at the back holes 13-18. Fairways and greens were in great shape. Sand traps were a little rocky. Staff so friendly and accommodating. Awesome driving range and practice area. You can’t lose by playing at Sewailo.
Tucson Trip
Creek golf course at Casino Del Sol in Tucson Arizona. Everything went smoothly from bag check, checking in at the pro shop, driving range was grass and excellent. The Ranger was also our starter and gave us tips on how to navigate the course. I would highly recommend playing this course.
COVID issue
Ran out of carts to take as a single. No arrangements for sharing a cart other than to tell you to wear a mask or get your mioney back.
As always, awesome
I love this course. By far the best value for your money in Pima County
The payment of some on line and the rest at the course is not good. Guy doing the booking has to explain why the rest of the foursome pays some to the course and more money to the guy who paid the deposit. Make it like it used to be. All up front or pay all at the course. Played your course since it opened. I just payed all up front split it four ways and no problem! Other times someone else paid it all up front and I pad my share to the others. Doing it that way makes it easy to have the correct cash in pocket to pay your share. Today it was like Keystone Cops passing money around .....who has fives who has ones who has a twenty. Not a good system. We worked it out but generally the guy booking the game will get the short end of the stick. Maybe not in one booking but over time. Makes you not want to book or let someone else do the booking.
Great Golf Course
Hard to find anything bad to say. Great layout, lots of tees to choose from. Very challenging, great scenery and a great value. Practice area was in great shape. It's one of those courses that you want to play again now that you know the layout. I'd go back in a heartbeat.
I have played this course many times. In the past course was excellent but this time was different. Course was terrible fairways were hard and dry in some areas and soggy in others no consistency. Had signed up to play 18 but quit after 9 course was that bad.
