Unfortunate choice for a round
Very unenjoyable round. Lot of work going on on the course, new tee boxes being built so many holes with temp tees shortening several holes. Some greens were threadbare and it was like putting on concrete. Then we had a 4 ball in buggies holding up several 2 balls. The actual course could be a good challenge but the quality needs to be upgraded.
Improving every visit
Major course improvements still in progress which impacts some holes quite significantly but these will make a huge benefit once completed.
The greens are getting better every visit and overall course condition was excellent. A few quite long walks between holes are the only negative.
Bad time to play
Lot of maintenance work on the course, new tee boxes etc , meant many holes were different to card due to temp tees. Several greens had bare patches and were dried hard. Will try again next year or so.
Hidden gem
Lovely course even undergoing tee improvements we had a really enjoyable round.
We arrived early and was allowed straight on the course.
Were really looking forward to playing here next year when everything's finished
Course
Well layed out course, some tricky holes. Greens could have been better but still playable. Signs around apologising for work being undertaken though. Will definitely return
Unreal value
£20 for a beautiful wooded front 9 with lots of fun water hazards to enjoy, back 9 opens up but still has amazing holes. Could not recommend this course enough and for those lazier golfers there are buggies on offer! If you play you will be shocked by the price greens are perfect like carpets!
Will be amazing when the work is done
i like playing here boss course. Just need to get them greens better alot better
Good but not when wet
It's a challenging course to play, but stay away if it's been raining coz it gets very boggy.
There's an L shaped hole where you drive down the middle then either play straight ahead with a 9 iron to the gap or take the risk over trees to a very raised green.
Greens...
Maintenance is to be expected at this time of year but the greens were in shocking condition. I would definitely give Berrington hall a miss for the time being. Plenty of other courses in the area in cracking condition despite being very busy. Shame really because its a nice layout.
Great Course
Having recently played my local course in boggy/wet conditions on 6 occasions, this was a nice change. I had played this course within a month of it opening (2010 i think) when it was called the North West National, it has settled well since then.
The fairways and rough were in great condition following the recent inclement weather.
The greens were in pretty good condition too.
There were a number of tee boxes undergoing ground work which was good to see, notably the 11th, 12th, 13th, 17th and 18th.
The 15th green was out of use due to work being done, so the winter green was in use. There were 3/4 ground staff working on it at the time so I expect this to be open within days.
A couple of bunkers GUR but once again, being worked on.
Overall, well worth a visit, great value for money.
Once the putting green is in better condition and the new practice area, you can see this being a great place to visit on a regular occasion.
A good challenge for all handicaps even when the pins are in difficult positions.
Excellent Value
This was a last minute booking, and Mark was really helpful when I was booking the tees.
Its a Long time since I've played here, course was in great condition, the course has improved since I last played there.
the staff were really friendly and keen to help
6 of us played and we all said we would return
Great layout but needs more work!!!
Great layout of the course, some great holes, greens were nice but they are doing a lot of work on the tee boxes so we was playon off forward tee's which wasnt great.
