Played here few weeks back after long periods of bad weather, I thought the course was great considering the weather we'd had and was really looking forward to playing again after better weather.

I played again yesterday and was so disappointed. The course has had problems with their watering so greens are solid.

The greens are patchy and bare with loads of bobbles in. Also the greens had been top dressed but also had some fertiliser spread too. This meant every green stank of manure, the ball bounced everywhere on every putt making it almost impossible to hit a good putt.

Your ball also picked up the fertiliser as it rolled, ruining your putt.

There was a lot of cut grass left on sides of fairways making shots in the rough very hard to find.

I'm afraid I won't be returning here any time soon as the course is a long way from a condition I would be happy to pay for.

It is a few years since I last played here and recent reviews were quite positive so thought it worth another try.

The layout has been significantly altered (for the better) but the amount of water (ponds not standing water!) and thick rough covered with grass cuttings meant plenty lost balls even when only just off the fairway!!

It's a long course with long walks between some holes so certainly not for the faint hearted.

Overall I won't be rushing back and there are better, more forgiving courses around for less cash.

My wife and I played on a blisteringly hot day. Due to the bad manners and poor etiquette of the four-ball in front, a golf society from Liverpool, we took 4 1/2 hours to play this course. They were clearly poor golfers, short on drive distance and at least one of them in trouble on every hole.

An approach fand our request to fnally to play through was met with a denial on the grounds that they already let a two ball through earlier.

They had clearly lost ground on the play in front but were determined no one else would get through. I believe everyone should be allowed to play their golf but the club should Marshall the course on particularly hot and busy days to ensure this type of instance is dealt with. As for this particular 4 ball. Rude,loud and bad mannered.

Firstly the course is dry so the drainage is great, tee boxes are decent but some fairways need a bit of attention, the greens are firm for the time of year and on the day had recently been sanded so couldn't tell there true condition but looked OK, the course itself is a tough test with some great holes and features on the whole it was good for the time of year considering the last winter, hopefully will improve further through the summer

I have played this course a few times over the years and this is the best condition it has been in. The ground staff appear to be doing a great job as despite the amount of rain we have had recently the course was quite dry. On the day I played the greens were quite bobbly, but that was mainly because they had been top dressed. I will definitely be playing here more often.

Course has great layout going was boggy in some areas but expected with weather still very good 18 holes with good greens and water to end up in ha ha !! Great all

Played here for the first time today. Allan on reception was very friendly and made us feel really welcome. Always a good sign when the staff are friendly

There are decent changing rooms and somewhere decent to get refreshments it also has a large car park.

Even though we have had loads of wet weather recently the course was well drained and there was no standing water. There was some maintenance going on which will only enhance the course once the season is in full swing.

The winter tees were well signed which really helped to keep the game moving.The course has it's water hazards but that only made it more fun.

The greens were a little bit rough but that is to be expected in winter conditions but they ran true.

I will definitely be returning to this course

weather was not brilliant but still enjoyed the game course can be challenging but does give you a chance. first time here for my son & he loved the course

Played this course on an extremely difficult day weather wise, thats the reason for the condition only 3 stars, greens had a lot of surface water which made it hard to judge but i think any course would of been the same in these conditions. Lovely course overall can see some real work has gone into the place, quite a few long par 4s and a couple of strange hole layout wise but would really recommend this place so much in fact i am playing it again next week with better conditions, fingers crossed!!

Great variety of holes especially on the front nine which is played though woodland off elevated tees. The par 5 7th has a 90 degree dogleg onto an elevated green so requires precise second shot. Some testing tee shots over water such as the 8th and a couple of testing par 3s as well.

Well signposted and greens were in excellent condition. Looking forward to trying it again!

A great course and very friendly staff. Clearly been through some difficult times but the course is brilliantly designed and a proper test for any golfer. With a little more work this will be a must visit course for any local golfer. Thanks for a great day !

Played this course a few weeks ago was very dry and greens were not the best

Played it again Fri the 9th June after some very hard rain a few days before and could not beleave the change in the course greens were spot on will play it again soon

Course was in excellent conditon from tee to green. Greens not the fastest, but there had been some heavy rain previously. Very interesting course with a good variety of holes. Completely sheltered from surrounding roads so you could be in the middle of nowhere. Would have been happy to pay the standard price but the Teeofftimes deal made it an absolute bargain.

The fairways need attention, the greens awful, if the spent more and got a better green keeper they would get a lot more business, until then won't be going back ,a shame could be great

Course was in poor condition.. Fairways bare, greens in a very poor state and also quite difficult to navigate our way around.. Waliked off after 11 holes and will not rush back to play it again..

It is a shame as the course has potential and it is plain to see that the owners had big plans for it but it seems that something has gone wrong somewhere along their journey..

fabulous layout only let down by the condition of the greens,if they can get them right this will be an excellent course,really enjoyed my round
