Cobblestone Golf Course

I’ve played here once before but I went with some friends and it was their first time playing there. Overall we loved it for the price however we noticed that some tee times on the weekends can exceed $60 to even $70. While not bad at all, I feel the $60 tee time at a place like Barnsley is much more worth it (albeit its like an hour away but I still think it’d be more worth it if you don’t mind the drive up there).

Other than that small complaint, everything else about Cobblestone was solid. Greens and fairways rolled nicely, Decent pace of play even on a Saturday, and ample opportunities to buy drinks from the drink cart. Overall If you haven’t played here and you’ve been thinking about it, you should. Good course.

The course was in great shape! Especially considering the amount of play the course gets. Play moved along at about 4:30 pace for 18 holes. The practice putting green is being rebuilt so it is closed until September. The range was open hitting from mats. The greens we’re running a little slow but were in very good condition. The bunkers were all raked and the tee boxes and fairways in good shape. Rangers are a bit much, but I guess you need that much monitoring with a group on just about every hole. I would highly recommend playing cobblestone at this time.

Greens are way too slow. Made a tee time for a twosome and the starter made us pair up with others. If they are not going to let you play a twosome they should not allow you to get a tee time for a twosome. I play this course once and every blue moon and every time I have to keep the cart on the path. This is difficult because a lot of the holes you cannot see your ball from the cart path. A lot of walking back-and-forth.

Greens were horrible today hune 18. Just aerated and sanded. Almost not playable. It will be a week or two before they are normal and playable.

We played 18 today for $38 with aerated greens. Course is nice. Rangers are over zealous. I wouldn’t pay $70 to play here when I could drive up 75 and play Fieldsfor $45. For a course that’s on Lake Acworth, you don’t see the lake much.

Cobblestone is a challenging but beautiful course. Even though the greens were aerated it was in excellent shape. A great public course.

The greens have recently been aerated but the course does give you free hot dog chips and a drink because of this. Course layout is good but the pace of the play was very very slow. Lots of Rangers on the course but pace never seem to Quicken up. Fairways are in great condition along with the bunkers and enjoyed my round there. Could have been so much faster by possibly 45 minutes to an hour if groups ahead played a bit faster..Recomend to play early or it's going to be a 5 to 6 hour round during the week which is no fun.

I have played this course several times over the past year giving it another chance to improve but there is always a problem with the putting surfaces. Granted in the winter and spring this course stays wet. The layout is challenging and fair but the greens are just in terrible shape. Six weeks ago I played here with two other golf partners and we all agreed the greens were almost not playable, but we also thought it is late spring and the growing in period so we just accepted it for what it was. Now six weeks later they have punched them and as far as we could tell today no top dressing what so ever, definitely haven’t been cut in more than a week and they are in roughly the same shape or worse when I played here last time. This course charges between 55-75 dollars average per round. Cobblestone needs to hire a new super or have a conversation with whoever overseas this disaster of a putting nightmare. The summer season is halfway finished.

Greens had been punched. Greens were ok considering this. Tee boxes were bare in many cases. Rough is still thin too. Course gets so much play it’s wearing on the condition. Too bad. Great track.

Recently aerated and sure seems late in the season. Most other courses aerated WEEKS ago!! Greens are freshly punched and VERY sandy. Will be 4-6 weeks in my opinion before they’re back in good shape. Charging the full rate and giving a coupon for a free hotdog, chips and soda seemed a bit insulting given the condition of the course. Also forgot to mention both the practice putting green and short game area next to the driving range are also closed for renovations.

Once the course is back in good shape Cobblestone is typically one of the most pristine courses around but for now suggest skipping it for another course until conditions improve..
