Golfer Reviews
Beautiful Course
I love playing here. The course is beautiful and it is supervised with great care and tremendous professionalism.
Hi! We appreciate you leaving a review and rating us. We will inform the entire team, so they know their hard work is paying off. We look forward to having you back! Thanks for choosing Cobblestone!
Hi, Deejay. We appreciate your 4-star rating and review. We hope you join us for another round soon. Thanks for choosing Cobblestone!
Great track, friendly staff - well maintained!
Having not played Cobblestone in ~15 years I was hoping to find the track as I remembered it during my Junior academy days.....thankful not much has changed since then! We played on a wet Monday so it was wide open (no bev cart only downside, maybe just a Monday thing?). Best value for the money after scoring a Hot deal on golfnow. Even with-out a "hot deal," seems to be a great value for the money at their standard rates.
This course has a great layout of holes and is walkable with-out much distance between greens and the next tee box but you better be prepared for a few steep hills and lots of mounds to navigate all over the course.
Greens were in great shape compared to others this time of year but some folks still can't grasp the concept of repairing ball marks to HELP maintain these great greens along Lake Acworth's picturesque fall foliage. Only #7 fairway had an area of "ground under repair" or should have been roped off as such.
Undulations (fairways & greens) are plentiful and you better "miss" on the right side of the hole or you'll be left with a challenging putt. Expect to play a bunch of side/up/down hill lies throughout your round (even on the "flat" holes). Bermuda rough isn't long but it causes the ball to sit down so be sure to take an extra club, or two, if you hope to get to the hole. No gps in carts but lots of marked sprinkler heads and drains to help keep the pace of play moving along.
Grounds keepers, cart attendants, and pro shop staff were all extremely friendly - thanks for another great memory at Cobblestone!
Hello, and thank you so much for the review. Welcome back. We're glad you had an incredible time and hope to see you again soon!
Hello, David. We are sorry to see that your overall experience was anything short of 5 stars. We hope you'll give us another try in the near future.
Slow...
Course was in good condition, tho it doesn’t drain well, so every hole had some soggy areas. Main issue was pace of play. 5 1/2 hrs is brutal. We barely finished our round before dark, with a 1 o’clock tee time. Hosting a small tournament on Sunday is one thing, but to allow then to back the course up where you got 3 groups standing on the tee box is frustrating.
Hello, David. Thank you for reviewing the course. We apologize for the delay of play during your round. This is by no means the standard we strive to achieve. With an uncharacteristically full day, we experienced one of our busiest days this year. We are working hard to accommodate everyone who visits our course to allow our guest the chance to play there rounds this summer. With that in mind, we are working to best control pace and allow everyone to finish in a reasonable amount of time. We will continue to look for ways to improve. We are glad to see you rated the course conditions and layout to be great during your game. Thank you for playing Cobblestone Golf Club, we hope to see you again soon.
Ranger Threatened to Skip Holes.
The ranger threatened to make us skip Holes to speed up pace of play. We we're not holding up the group behind us. Very rude and this pressure definitely destroyed an otherwise enjoyable round.
poor fairways and tee boxes
poor fairways and tee boxes everything needs to be cut
Good public course
Cobblestone is a very nice, well conditioned public course. Very, very challenging from the tips. Other tee boxes available to suit your level of play or how much challenge you want to bite off. Fairways and greens in very good condition.
if you have a chance play it
It was a beautiful course challenging but fair Staff was nice worth the price would play there again
Slow
Greens and fairway getting back into good shape after aeration. Pace of play was very slow
Great round on a Saturday morning
Challenge tight course. Many holes next to water
Long time
I hadn’t played Cobblestone in probably 12-13 years; recently moved back to the area. The course is still very enjoyable; nice mix of holes that present a good challenge. Greens had been aerarated recently, but rolled well. Fairway grass could be a bit more dense, but still very playable without sparse lies. Course offers nice views of Lake Acworth that makes the experience even more pleasant. Overall I was very pleased and look forward to my next round at Cobblestone!
Course is going downhill
After booking my round through Golf Now, who had No alert about an aerification. I called the course to verify weather conditions in the area. They told me that they had aerified the greens on Monday (five days earlier). We arrived at the course to find the greens totally covered with Sand. They had aerified earlier but only applied sand the previous day. It was like putting in the sand traps.
They had twosome stacked one after the other with No efforts being made what so ever to pair folks up to increase the soured of play. We had a group of real hackers in front that the Marshall said "they was doing the best they can".
Furthermore, this course has been in great shape throughout the years that we've played there, However now it seems to be going downhill fast. There are many tee boxes that are in terrible shape. Almost every hole had multiple spots where folks are traveling the same paths (following like cattle) entering and exiting the fairways that had Big bare spots. With the amount of rain that we've had, this course should be in pristine condition. ......but it's not. I can't give a greens report as you couldn't even see them due to the amount of sand.
Turns out that the course itself was offering better pricing than Golfnow, with a lunch included because of the course conditions. GolfNow needs to stay on top of their game involving course conditions or they'll start losing customers. As for Cobblestone, I want be going back for a while, and certainly until they have made some changes.
Hello, and thank you for your 5-star rating! We appreciate you taking the time to leave a review. Please book another round with us soon.
