Had a great time!
Cart path only is always a bummer, had fun anyway, I needed the exercise. The greens were in great shape. The rest of the course was a little soggy. Had some rain the night before. Will definitely play this course again.
I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
Great course
The course has a nice layout with some challenging holes, but is fair if you choose your tee box appropriately. Lots of well placed bunkers that can easily add to your score if you are not a good sand player. Greens have hidden breaks. The course is in great shape for this time of year and should be beautiful in a few weeks. A great course, definitely worth the GolfNow price.
Staff not in a hurry
We went in and one of the 2 staff in pro shop was taking an order for company logo for gold balls for 15 min while 5 people waited . The other person was stocking shelves. Wow. Course was wet form rain the night before and it was just horrific.Cant bring outside cooler and all they give you is a thin plastic bag for beverages. Marshalls let a very slow twosome go in front of us on number 8 and play slowed due to them hitting 2 to 3 balls off tee box, When completed no one there to wipe down clubs or give any assistance.
Starters w/ Attitude
Really enjoyed the challenges of this course, did not enjoy the starters. Brought some customers to play a round here over the weekend. We finished 9 in exactly 2 hours and decided to stop at the turn to get some food and drink. Spent $60 and was back in the cart on hole 10 within 5-7 minutes. The group behind us decided not to stop at the turn and played through. As we pulled up to hole 10, the starter sitting there scolded us for being pasted and reminded us to keep pace with the group
In front of us. We were all very frustrated as we had just spent more money on their golf course, only to be harassed for stopping. Really changed our attitude toward the staff of this course.
Not Hassle-free
It is frustrating enough when weather conditions dictate cart path only and I fully understand. But being stopped by a ranger 4 -5 times during a round to tell you to keep your cart on the cart path when you never even touched a blade grass or mud rut is rediculous. The staff is generally nice but they must have had a bad day. When I complained their retaliation was to confiscate my 3 beers that I brought to the course citing county ordinance. It will be a long time before I go back. I'm sure they could care less since they have more business than they can handle. They allow walkers on Fridays so the 5 hour round didn't help. Handicap flags btw are rare to get but I understood sine the course was extremely wet. That's not their fault and I shouldn't have brought beer but sometimes in early morning you may play awhile before seeing a cart person. My main complaint is the rangers constant intervention when it is not necessary. Several weeks back we were told to speed up our play as we came off hole 6 only to find the group in front of us were just teeing off. We waited 10 min for them to play the par 3, 7th.
Cobblestone- Acworth
Dew to rain the previous days, the course was cart path only, and this required you to walk back and forth to your ball. We were packed in on top of one another, and the course management had the nerve to complain of us being 10min off pace. Mud, groups stacked on top of one another, and the combining of players with groups. Not worth the price !! Not sure if I will be going back. Two many other good courses out there to play for a lesser price and spirit.
Great all around
This course proves that the staff can make or break a course. This course has great bones. The fairways and greens aren't always at 100% but.... The staff is so welcoming and supportive that it creates an environment that is so enjoyable. Mike is always even keel no matter how many people are milling around during a frost delay. Great atmosphere. Don't get me wrong, the course is great too but it's the team here that really makes the difference for me.
after rain play
nice course with some spectacular views. but not the best course to play cart path only.
we had a great
Cart path only is long day on any course. Had a fitbit with me and walked 12,340 steps with a cart. Good work out
Good time
Course was great. Even saw a bald eagle resting in a pine tree on the course
Great value
Cobblestone is a great value anyway, but the discount I got through the GolfNow app made it even better.
Greens were in great shape considering the winter conditions. Fairways has some wash out areas but I expect them to be repaired in the spring. Greens keepers must have been upset. Pin placements were tough.
Northeasterner plays the South
Fortunately, I was teamed up with 2 other players that knew the course as I was a visitor to Atlanta on business. Considering the area hasn't had any significant rain in months, they have done an amazing job maintaining this course. Played from the blue tees which was recommended by several previous reviewers and that was a good fit.We were the first tee time out, so if pace of play was bad, it was our fault only - lol. Would play this course again.
15th best improved course in the country
Cobblestone Golf club is buetiful. From the time I got out of my car I was blown away by the buetiful practice facilites and how full the parking lot was on a 55 degree day. The putting green was good and the driving was large driving range. The only bad thing is you hit of mats. The chipping area has a large deep bunker and a specious chipping green. The course is buetiful with 8 holes running along lake Acworth which in the summer is filled with boats. You will get your day started on a blind tee shot 1st hole par 5. The 3, 4, and 5 are unbeatable running on the lake. 3 and five are par threes while 4 is a drivable par 4 with crazy winds of the lake. The 8 th hole is a 230 yard par 3 uphill into the wind. And nine is a nice downhill par 5. The back nine starts slow but when you get to 15 the par 5 you will never look back. 16 is an island green on lake Acworth. It is only 112 yards which causes for a lot of hole in ones. 17 is a downhiller drivable par 4 but if you miss left you are in the marsh. 18 is a stellar finishing hole on the marsh. After you're round head to the bar and grill for a fantastic meal. The staff is so nice and makes you feel at home check this course out you won't look back.
Tough for beginners
Course has many hills on each side of fairway and the staff does not want carts to get out of fairway, even with handicap flag. This makes it pretty tough for older citizens that are beginners and stay in rough.
18 holes at cobblestone
The greens are great . This is all
Great day at the links
Course was in good shape. Greens were very nice. Tee boxes had been recently watered. I wish they would have someone coming around in a cart with beverages during the week. Only see someone on weekends.
