Decent Layout, but Course Conditions a Little Rough
Nice facility, with extremely friendly staff. Decent practice area and driving range. Course featured an interesting layout, with numerous elevation changes and undulated fairways and greens. But, the fairways were fairly spotty and even rough in a few places, Low-lying areas were extremely wet/soggy, making for some muddy lies. Greens are small, and had been recently punched. They will probably be great in a few weeks, though. A tad expensive for the conditions and distance from town.
price
For such a high price you would think the tee boxes would be true. They have sodded some tee boxes so they have moved all the tee boxes to a close spot which means the course isnt playing true yardage.
Lush fairways and tough Greens
I went back to Cobblestone for the first time in over a year yesterday. The Course is in the best shape I've seen it and looks as if it's only going to get better save the summer heat. Their staff seem very proud to be employed there at the course and you can tell they are working hard to maintain this gem on the outskirts of Cobb County. Scenic Lake Acworth provides a nice backdrop to this well designed track that is as challenging as it is fun to play.
Very good course and very challenging for the non average player
Excellent course. The greens are well maintained by there staff. Make sure you received the instructions on how to play certain holes. I went through GolfNow to reserved my tee times $33.00 instead of $60.00.
great course
I enjoyed everything about this course. The course was difficult and I did not play my best but the course design, scenery and condition made up for it. The greens are lightning fast and you need to het targets to score on this course.
First time baxk
It has been over a year since I played this course, based silent on its condition last time I played there. Previously, the fairways were torn up and the greens had so many weird dead/dirt areas, yet they continue to be one of the most expensive public courses around. Well, I can say that is no longer the issue. The fairways were amazing and the greens in much better shape. The course is playing as difficult as ever. Fast greens and a beautiful view. Will gladly be returning here often. Also, I was really pleased with how courteous every single employee was, a great day on the course.
I'll Be Back!
It had been at least two years, possibly three years, since I last played Cobblestone and vowed never to come back. It was a sunny warm day so I decided to leave the office a get in a round during the week. I read the previous review titled "We've all done it" and was happy to hear about the course conditions so I decided to see for myself. WOW!!!!!! What an amazing turnaround! These are by far the greenest and most plush fairways I have seen in the area. ***NOTE: please use the sand and/or replace your divots so we can all continue to enjoy the fantastic fairways!*** The greens are in great shape too so please remember to repair your ball mark and 5 others before you walk off the green.
Thank you Mr. Superintendent for all of the hard work by you and your staff of green thumbs. I will promise to take care of your course if you promise to keep up the magnificent conditions.
I'll be back soon!
We've All Done It☺️
A night before pre-planning, unexpected day off from wok for a golf day adventure. Thanks to Golfnow, I had several option for my day. Cobblestone came to mind due to the outstanding first time playing the course about a month ago, from an invite of a friend (even thought it was wet out). After a quick stop at the local PGA Superstore for new wedges, I was greeted on the tee box with excellent green fairways, yes green this time of year. Paired with a local, I was told a new super has been bought in. Though out the round, super hard at work has been clearly done from greens, tee boxes and landscaping. I can talk all day about the course upkeep that's taking place. Let's not forget, a good test of golf for all skill levels. I can't wait for this summer, guys don't missed this opportunity to play this course, its a hidden gem. Be warned, got to work the ball both ways and then second shots needs to be accurate. A must to play and made easier using Golfnow!
Cobblestone
Great course with a awesome view of the lake everyone that works here is very friendly. Greens are fairly fast and are in good condition everytime I've played here. However this course is is terribly slow at drying out after it rains the day before or even a few days before. Overall a solid golf course
Excellent course for the money!
Cobblestone golf course was in great shape for a February round. The greens were receptive and rolled true. I can't wait to get back for a spring round.
Bad experience
When you book w tee time they take your phone number, why? There was roughly a 2 hr back up due to frost. Wouldn't phone calls or an email blast be a nice gesture? Instead, we got the "we can't predict the weather!" It's February, and it's been 30 every night this month and the weather forecasts show it, how is this rocket science? Start booking times at 10 and not 7 or 8 when you know it will be a waste.
Paid for the round on golf now, drove over an hour, got there an hour early to hit the range and then got delayed so I sat around and didn't even get the golf in that we payed for.
Cobblestone 2/115
Played the blue tees. Challenging greens. Great elevation changes. Staff was excellent. Out of town and only had clubs as I had bought a new set in ATL. Staff provided a bag to use and course Rangers were friendly providing tips on shot locations being it had been my first time playing the course
Excellent Hot Deal
When offered as a hot deal, this course is a great bang for buck under $30. Back 9 plays more challenging than the front in my opinion.
Great layout, good conditions
I see one reviewer saying they played in January of 2015 commenting on the putting green saying it is to fast...I call BS on that review! Putting green has been under construction for MONTHS, be warned there is NO putting green- hopefully ready in a few months.
I love this course, challenging for all levels but won't leave you feeling humiliated like when I played Chambers Bay site of 2015 US Open!
Good shot placement is needed but you can be a bit erratic off the tee and still have an enjoyable round, couple of par 4's that play LONG so if you are a 9 handicap or higher play the white tee's for a much more enjoyable experience. I only play the blue tees on warm days or in dry conditions so I can get a bit of roll out.
Great L (ayout and Excellent Value
I hadn't played Cobblestone for a few years, but I always loved the routing and was excited to play on the Championship Bermuda greens. I was pleasantly surprised to learn that they had over-seeded with (rye) grass as well this winter which gives these southern courses a very lovely green fairway/blonde rough contrast which I thinks is exceptional!
One of my buddies who has recently moved down to this area was thoroughly impressed and thanked me several times for choosing this track.
We will be back!
Bad course condition
Greens are destroyed, fairways are trashed and a ton of divots are sitting in the fairway. I play the course for school and you never have a good lie because of poor condition of the course. The ranrange is good in the sense that it's flat, but the tee is always trashed, and there is no grass. The practice green is way to fast for the greens on the course and there is a huge hill in the middle of the green that is unrealistic to any green on the course. The course would be great if the condition got better and they fixed their practice facilities. The course is very challenging and nice if it wasnwasn't trashed all the time.
Dave
good course, but you need to hit the ball in the fairway, lots of woods, sand and water, giving the amount of rain the course drained good. good practice area with a practice sand trap, great instruction from Joyce, putting green was closed was a big negative that looks like it will be some time before it is fixed.
Nice course
Caught a great Hot Deal, always look for one here as it's a bit out of my price range normally. Fun and challenging course. Lot's of wildlife! Big difference in difficulty on this course from the blue to white tees, so choose wisely. Their practice green by the clubhouse seems to have been under construction for 2 years, but they do have another by the range. Mats only on this day at the range, and frankly the mats were slippery and made warming up a bit of a challenge to do without hurting yourself.
Delayed tee time
I arrived 45 minutes prior to my tee time (1:10 pm) and was told my time would be delayed about 20 minutes due to a tournament and late starts due to early morning frost delays. It was 65 degrees at 12:30. At 2:00 pm, I was still unable to play and I left the course because we would be unable to complete the round even if we started soon as sunset is 5:30.
Never Fails
Have played this course before and each time it's always been cart path only. I figured when I played on 10/20 since no rain and beautiful weather it would be a perfect day but never fails it was cart path only due to seeding which it will be for the next ten days. With that being said that day turned into a 5 hr and 40 minute round, tee boxes haven't been cut so literally your tee is at the height of the grass, it's ridiculous and the fairways are the same and you will find plenty of casual water and mud balls and no roll whatsoever. The putting green is down so no practice there which made you think what's wrong with the greens but overall that was the only thing going for them and the friendly maintenance staff and marshals and can't not mention the beautiful lake views. I will not be returning anytime soon and this so called "hot deal" was a horrible deal. Never fails.
