Best shot of the day on the 4th hole Photo submitted by Brett4224030 on 10/04/2012
value for your short game
Beautiful day played in just over 2 hours, course was in great condition.
1st timer at Antelope Greens
$6/40 balls seems reasonable for range balls on an all grass range. Not very many of those left in Sacramento area. Overall the course and greens were in good shape. Antelope greens has several par 4's and the remainder par 3's. It is easily walkable, which I did. Carts are available too.
Sort of strange gem
Strange layout but as long as you have your course map handy you will be fine. This course really shines on the front 9 with the "island" green and also one of the most short and penal holes you will ever encounter. The holes don't have names but I will just go ahead and call that par 3 the "Bobbit."
The course was very well maintained on all fronts. I did notice that a coupe of the tee boxes weren't active but on a pitch and putt hole, you don't really need a proper tee shot anyways. Especially when there were 12 other holes from the Par 3 variety to get that work from. The clubhouse has a nice coziness to it despite it's open concept. However, it was a bummer that all of the TV's were turned off. I wasn't there to watch TV but they helped to contribute to the vibe of a less than enthusiastic welcome from the man behind the counter on a cold and rainy day. He wasn't rude, he was just very neutral which isn't a good thing in the world of customer service.
Anyhow, the golf was fair but I wouldn't necessarily recommend this course for junior golfers. The back 9 being an exception. The issue with the front 9 is that there are too many occasions of hazards for youngsters to lose their balls off of their tee shots. The back 9 is more forgiving.
I will be back to this course for sure as it has a uniqueness to it that is unmatched in the area in terms of it being an 18 hole executive course. I prefer playing 18 unique holes versus running back through the same 9 to get 18 in on a pitch and putt course.
Great round
Thanks again for another great day!!! I walked course today and got done under 3 hours… great place for beginners and people who want to have a great time!!! See you guys soon!!!
Greatest little course in the area
Great course to work on the short clubs! Never feel rushed by other golfers and everyone is so friendly.
Way better.....
Got course back in much better condition, played way truer. Really enjoyed the day.
Great bang for the buck!
A great course for ironwork, but you can swing away on a few. The greens are fair and true, and the fairways are well-kept. Very much worth the price!
What happened?????
Last time I played is when we had all the rain, I don't think the course has been watered since, tee boxes an absolute disaster just sand the greens brutal, can't keep a ball on the green. Just terrible conditions, I guess it is fine, as long as their making money right????
Best Mini 18 Course in Sacramento
Beautifully Challenging with precision!! Awesome tee boxes island green and more await you. A must play course. Your club choice will be challenged. Objects in view are not as they appear!
Worth the full walk and pla y. Go Do it ! !!!
Customer service
I come from a career in hospitality and customer service is everything. I did check in two hours early so I could get some warm ups at the range. The man at the counter checked me in and let me know that he would have a cart for me as soon as possible. During the next 30 minutes as I waited cart after cart was given to other golfers. I did ask if I could take a cart and was told NO. As frustration grew there were 6 carts sitting and I was getting ready to ask for a refund and a gentlemen came out of the club house and let me know that I could use one of the carts and tried to apologize for the other mans rudeness.. In short I was only had a very short time to warm up and the first man that I encountered should not be serving customers. The second man that helped me was very nice and spot on with customer service.
Fun course
A fun course where 9/18 holes you can pull out driver. Worth the price!
Firm Fast Greens - Course in decent shape
Busy day on the course, but pace of play was decent. For a par 58 course (4 par 4's and 14 par 3's), we finished in 3 hrs. and 10 minutes. If the course was empty it would take about 2 1/2 hours.
Course was in good, decent shape. Greens were very firm and fast, due to the lack of rain this winter season.
