Always sloooooow! Too many 5 somes!
With all the rain recently, much of the rough was a bit overgrown. Very difficult to find your ball. Greens were recently punched but that’s at most courses that maintain their greens properly. The clubhouse is great! New ownership has invested a lot in maintenance. Fresh paint! Improved interior. Regular restroom maintenance. Great food!
“New” carts are very nice.
My biggest complaint isn’t with the course, it’s with the todays golfers which have no etiquette whatsoever. They’re loud, play their music so everybody can “enjoy” it. They bounce around the course to whatever hole they feel like playing. And worse of all, combining 3-4 carts and playing 6 people! I haven’t played this course under 5 hours in years. My best reason for playing here is I can afford to pay for a foursome that includes my 2 grandsons.
Valentine's Day
Valentine's Day was a good time to go as pace of play was better than usual. Finished in under 4 hours. Given the time of year the course was in good condition.
Too slow
Players hitting 2/3valls off the tee no good can't finish 18 just stopped on 11 to slow
Just started golfing and course is really well maintained. One of the best in the valley

Nice Course
First time playing this course and it was a good challenge. Nice challenging par 3’s. I had a great time playing this course and will definitely come back.

Great coarse, very forgiving fairways, great staff. East side gem.
Kern River… one of the better courses
I have played five municipal golf courses in the Bakersfield area. Kern River is one of the better ones.
