Kern River Golf Course

amazing staff. amazing course. they let me demo some clubs which was great. will be playing a lot here this year.

Some greens still recovering from aeration. Fairways good. Rough had many large weeds.

Course conditions absolutely horrible, couldn’t believe we paid $50 per person for this round. Pace of play was absolutely ridiculous!! This place has really gone downhill.

Appreciate that everyone is a beginner at one point but much needs to be said about picking up and moving along. 7 strokes or more to get to the green? Nuts

This course is perfect for an experienced beginner. Great terrain and obstacles to challenge yourself with.

Love playing here. It's always a challenge for me here. The greens are fast and are very challenging, but it only makes me better.

This course is worth playing, however if pace of play is important to you, I’d avoid this course on Fri, Sat and Sun. 4 1/2 hours would be quick for them. Yesterday we finished in almost 5 1/2 hours. Totally ridiculous. They allow 5 somes, I saw a 6 some behind us. The greens are typically in good shape and reasonably fast. Fairways are meh. It’s a par 70 and they have several lengthy par 3s in excess of 200 yards from the whites.

Tee time is non existent. It’s happened twice recently where some other group is teeing off in my time slot and I have to tee off 15-20 minutes later than my tee time. To make things worse the tee times are so bunched together that it takes over 5 hours to complete a round of 18 holes because we have to wait to tee off at every hole. This is on weekdays so I can’t imagine how backed up it is on weekends. The most recent round we were approached rudely and aggressively by the warden yelling at us “where did you come from?” He accused us of not being at our correct hole and that we were not behind the group ahead of us the entire round. It was fine after he realized he had made a mistake and let us be, but we didn’t pay to be treated like that. I enjoy the course lay out but the tee times need to be spaced out more. I have friends who have already stop going to this golf course because of the time issue and the way it is managed. I had stopped going to this golf course awhile back when they installed frisbee golf and soccer golf because of the metal baskets on the golf course and all the distractions. I returned because the distractions were removed but seriously considering taking a break from it again due to the frustration of waiting around waisting my time most of the round.
