Decent course for the money
The rought could use help. Quite bumpy . But overall it's a nice course here in Bakersfield
Hard pass
To be fair , the staff is great.
The course is not maintained well .
The greens are beat up from lots of players
refusing to fix ball marks .
Got stuck behind a large group of 5 carts all
playing together , between the 10 of them only one could make contact with the ball.
No Marshall to put a stop to this behavior .
Any way …….. don’t waste your time
Decent course
Greens could be in better conditions but the staff is great, carts are good, pace of play is normal within Bakersfield, tee box in good condition, fairway is decent
Avoid High School Tournaments
We started playing around noon behind a High School tournament. They are extremely slow. I do like how this course is improving but avoid any day with a tournament if you can’t start early enough ahead of it. It’s great that new players are being introduced to golf but if you get behind to tournament expect a +5:30 round
Green conditions poor/ punched greens
Great piece of play for a change and the greens on the back nine were punched recently and was not made aware of this when we made our reservations will not make that same mistake again front nine greens were so so
North kern
The course was in great shape. A bit congested but wasn't unbearable. Still had a great time with my friends and have golfed here several times. Great course for beginners
Needs improvement
Arrived 45 minutes prior to tee time, purchased tokens for range balls, but the bin was empty so we didn’t get to warmup. The golf cart was not fully charged and we limped through the last five holes. The course was nice but the sand traps were like concrete, could use some attention. With that being said, overall had a good time.
Terrible Course
The course was in terrible shape. The fairways were very bumpy and the rough was horrible. I will not play tNorth Kern Golf Course again.
One of the best courses in Bakersfield
I’ve only been playing serious golf for about the last 6 months. I love this course for its beginner friendly layout but also enough difficulty to work on all aspects of your game. The staff there as extremely helpful and flexible. Most times I check in for my tee time but want to hit the range before hand, they let me tee up whenever I want after the range if it’s not busy. Also great course to walk, and amazing community of players that you’ll run into

pretty much perfect got stuck behind a slow group 4. Made our total time on the course close to six hours. otherwise perfect will come back
Soggy greens especially around the pin
Good pace of play Fairways were in decent shape. Greens were extremely soggy left footprints all around the green, especially near the pin, which made putting very difficult due to the impressions made by peoples shoes.
