A Little Rough

The course has some fun golf holes but it's a little rough. New or what appeared to be temporary or new holes weren't clearly marked. Carts were tattered and rips on seats, brake was bad and it was really noisy.

I won't come back unless I hear its getting better. Good points are the holes that are good are fun, some fairways are nice. The GolfNow hotdeal peice was fair.

course lay out

They should have kept the original lay out of the course, they deleted 5 holes and made another 5 different holes, the original holes had so much fun to play, they just screwed it up totally, but I still like to play at this course because of the price.

Not great

I was surprised there was no areas to practice putting and chipping and the “driving range” is more like a wedge range once you can’t hit it more than 180 yards because of risking nearby houses.

The course needs work. Fun layout but I wouldn’t pay full price.

Overall

The course usually has good tee time selection and a decent value for the money. The many changes to the course over the years have not been as positive. But as a backup selection it’s good.

Enjoyable Golf Once Again

I have been playing Brentwood GC frequently over the past few months, and I always find it a good, soild round of golf. The fairways were fine, albeit a little soggy in spots. The greens werre in excellent shape and rolled well. Traps can use some work, but there was new sand in a few of them. Overall, it was enjoyable golf. Brrentwood GC is not a country club, nor does it claim to be. It is just a good, fun muni course with some really interesting holes. I like it. It's why I keep going back. The clubhouse staff are outstanding. Some of the best people I have come across in my many years of playing golf. The negatives...don't get stuck behind the "locals". They take their sweet time and seem to have a total disregard for others on the course. They make a good four hour round into a five and a half hour round. The other negative is the new green on the par 5 - 15th hole. It is one of the most ridiculously unfair greens I have ever played. It is an upside down soup bowl, and nothing sticks when you are approaching the green. Once you are on the green, there is a likelihood that your putt may roll completely off the green. I appreciate the new configuration of the course, but there is plenty of room to build a much better green on that hole. They really need to look and re-doing that green. However, the positives far outweight the negatives, and I will be back!

It would make sense if it was dirt cheap

Listen, the reviews here are accurate, this course is in interesting shape to say the least. From the powerlines to the bunkers as hard as concrete to the “driving range” which is absolutely horrible. I could make it make sense if the fee was lower but it’s just bad, and there are so many other options in the bay where you can play. Keep away.

Good course, lined by houses

I am a beginner golfer, so take that into consideration when reading this. I routinely shank my driver right and ended up abandoning it for a three iron in fear of hitting the houses. That’s my only knock on the course because that did instill anxiety in me that led to different club selection and more strokes.

Otherwise is was GREAT. The staff was awesome and friendly, the pace of play was a little slow but we were behind a group with a little golfer (who was adorable) and it was a packed Labor Day. The course was decently maintained and I WILL be back once I stop shanking my driver.

It was overall a really good experience.

Brentwood GC Is a Great Value

As I hav stated in reviews many times before, I really like Brentwood GC. I find it to be challenging and real value for the money. There are things that can improve, but overall the fairways and greens were in very good shape...especially the greens. The bunkers can use some work, but they have improved. We also had a little mechanical trouble with the cart we were given, but those things happen, and the problem was easily solved. I think the course is a wonderful lay-out with both easy and difficult holes. Like I said, it is a good bargain. Tow other things. One, the locals take their sweet time on every hole and have very little consideration for others on the course. At one time, during our round, three groups were on one hole while a fivesome in front of us played every putt as if it was the U.S. Open! PLEASE, just pick up the pace a little and there will be no complaints. "Golf Etiquette"... a forgotten phrase. The second thing that I would like to say is that the people who work at Brentwood GC are some of the nicest people I have come in contact with during my golf career. They are always helpful, courteous, and go out of their way to make playing Brentwood GC enjoyable. They are certianly one of the reasons we keep going back. Thank you to the Brentwood GC staff!
