Date Palm Country Club
About
Nestled in Coachella Valley, Date Palm Country Club sits at the base of the San Jacinto and Santa Rosa mountain ranges, providing nearly every hole on the golf course with a stunning view. The course is the centerpiece of a popular retirement community near Palm Springs, a location that enjoys nice weather year-round and is just 20 minutes from shopping, dining, and museums. The layout is on the shorter side, but it still has some challenging holes. The golf course demands accuracy with every contour of the rolling terrain and you'll be put to the test even further when maneuvering the small greens and narrow fairways. The bunkering is minimal but strategic at Date Palm C.C., and the occasional water hazard also comes into play. In addition to the golf course, there is a practice putting green.

Local Date Palm experience
Hidden in the Date Palm Country Club is this terrific course, nestled between the desert mountain and within a nicely kept mobil home community. Offers terrific rates when Hot Deals arise for this course. Look for free clinics. Great for the new golfer, and yet challenging for the experience golfer.
Excellent!
I’ve played this course many times, and am always happy with the course and the staff - both at the pro shop and the maintenance crew.
The course is in great shape right now; the greens are starting to harden up since the recent reseeding; the grass has come in good everywhere. There has been some recent heavy rain, so the bunkers aren’t in the best shape, but hopefully they will dry out soon.
This is a great short course! You may not use your driver very often, but you’ll get lots of short game practice. The people are nice, both players and staff, and the course has a good feel to it. In my opinion, it’s a gem in the area.
Grounds crew were aerating greens as we were playing so surfaces were completely different on some and made putting challenging
Great round
My wife and I played shotgun start @ 08:00hrs. which is very unusual for myself at that time.
A fellow Player named Carl from Vegas, joined us and we had a terrific round of golf.
Golf cart only did not discourage our play.
A Little Heaven on Earth
I learned to play on this executive course - and still find it challenging - especially the 8th hole. Water, bunkers and beautiful surroundings. Excellent play for the price. Friendly staff, carts are clean and in great shape. Go for it,
Poor employee communication
We had booked a 8:08 tee time on Golfnow. We arrived at 7:50 and were told it was a 8 am shotgun start and we were to be on hole 14 with another golfer. We raced to get ready and headed to hole 14. When we were going past 13 the greens keeper asked what we were doing. He said we could not tee off until he changed hole locations in 13 and 14 and that he was working his way to 18! He was not happy! I guess he didn’t get the memo about a shotgun start and he relayed his frustrations in our direction!!
Nice short course with lots of challenges
The course was in great shape, except the greens were still a little slow. Lots of challenges with narrow fairways and water. Staff was friendly and great restaurant for a beer after your round.
Courses Like This Are Needed!
This is a great course for new golfers and kids. Heck, it has a couple of par 3s that are 200 yards, so it’s a challenge to single-digit handicappers, too! It’s a pretty well-maintained course and is definitely a value!
Long and Straight
I learned to play golf four years on this course. There are a few 4 pars and remainder 3 par. Some challenging (for me) water holes and bunkers. I gauge the progress in my game when playing here. Carts are in good shape, convenient pro shop and in season a restaurant for lunch. They do a great job in keeping the appearance of this golf in great shape! Excellent value.
Play this course!!
My wife and I like Date Palm and I think it’s one of the best executive courses in the valley.
Good course for seniors
Challenging short course with narrow fairways and small greens. As a senior I have lost a lot of distance so a short course meets my needs for both fun and challenge. In summer the course is good considering the heat, in winter it is beautiful with snow capped mountains over rich green fairways. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Great executive course, but a few flaws, likely seasonal
Great course but most of the bunkers are like wet cement. The greens were also slightly overgrown. Maybe they didn't mow them for a day or 2. These are probably just seasonal problems since it's hot and theres not a lot of players. Besides that it's still a good time and the course is challenging. I say if you got the ball in the bunker just take free relief, it's that bad.
Nice Surprise!
A pleasant surprise! This executive course is an excellent place for my daughter to learn the game and have fun. I had a great time, too. Course is in beautiful shape and the greens putt very true.
Get your game on!
This gem of a course is the perfect layout to get your game together. Short, 54.1/80, but you can play from the blues, there are only a couple of par 4s on the front/back. One forced carry over water and a few dome shaped greens will keep you engaged.
Negative: The bunkers are not sand filled, more like cement. Too bad.
Challenging Water
Enjoy playing this course. It is a fun and challenging executive course with water on many of the par 3s. The fairways and greens are well taken care of and the trees add much needed shade on warm Palm Springs days. The course is good for beginners and seasoned golfers especially to work on the short game. We will return to this course in the future!
