Good course, extremely slow play
The course is kept up well but the staff is getting worse at overbooking and sending too many people onto the course. Round took 6 hours. If you have the time I’d say it’s worth a play for condition but be ready for slow play.
Pace of play
There are too many golfers playing the incorrect tees.
Need maintenance
No sand in sand traps.
There are only some soils and mud .
It’s not a clean restroom.
There are waste paper and didn’t flush after fee.
Some of tee boxes is too hard to fix the tee .
Good tract but poor pace of play
If you enjoy a five hour round of golf it is a perfect place to play golf. Really like the tract and the conditions are better than average over the golf courses I've played recently. The check in was "matter of factly" but the starter was excellent and helpful. I detest 5-somes so what was my choice was of course to play in one! Fortunately the foursome that I joined was very congenial and from a personal aspect had good time. Arrived at 1:05 for a 1:24 t-time and left the parking lot at 6:45 for home.
Need sand in sand traps
Some of the bunkers are hard as a rock.
Couldn’t see the sand without the soil in all course traps. That makes hard to get a good hit and not a fun.
The toilet is not a clean and got a bad smell.
It is too hard to fix the tee on the tee box.
As usual, it took more than five hours twenty minutes to finish the 18 holes.
Fun Round
This is an ice enough course. Pace of play was decent. 4.5 hours. About what expected. Course was in good shape. Cart girl was friendly and made multiple appearances throughout the round.
The one thing that always confuses me about this course though is the pro shop/starter. I don't play here often anymore, I moved from HB to Tustin eats ago being the main reason. But the starter here is always surly. They make it clear they'd that your presence annoys them and god forbid you ask a question. If you get an answer, it'll be a round about smart alleck answer. Also $36 to not share a cart with a stranger is laughable. It's $25 @ oak creek.
Having said that, once you get past the starter it's a nice enough course for a round of weekday golf.
Great Value for the Price!
The Los Lagos course was in good shape, but the greens were great! Good layout and fun to play. Best value in Orange County for the Price! Would
Play it Again!
Need sand in all course traps
Couldn’t see the sand in the sand traps without the soil.
Some of the bunkers are as hard as a rock.
Restroom was not clean and out of the hand papers.
restaurant and bar staff
The rudeness and arrogance of the wait and bar staff was totally unacceptable. I do have to say the lady working the snack bar was amazing. I work at a private course and club, there service would not be tolerated.
Long journey
Tee off time was 1:33pm but started after almost 20 minutes late 1:50pm.
As usual,
Took the 3 hours to finish front 9 and another 2 and half hours of back 9.
Some hard and fungi tee box are required the maintenance.
Would be better to a little shorten par three 7th hole in order to save time .
Always at least 3 or 4 teams are backing up.
Great
Mike in golf shop is great and Jose in the restaurant is also great
Slow play, good greens
Came to Costa Mesa on business and this course was closest to the Airbnb. Played the Mesa Linda in a five some. They let a lot of them on the course. It should play faster than it does, but I think when you start with the number one handicap hole and follow it with a par 3 things get jammed up right away. Tricky greens that were in good shape. Some of the bunkers could use a bit more sand. It’s an enjoyable course when the pace is right. It did pick up on the back, but expect a slow round. Decent driving range with grass and mat options. Grass being irons only. Good putting/chipping greens. Really I’d come back just for the greens, which kept fooling me all day. That and the atmosphere. Friendly staff. Met some nice people here.
Very slow
Pace was extremely slow, ppl were nice on the tee but maybe it’s just overbooked.
