Mesa Linda at Costa Mesa Golf & Country Club

Tee off at three,finished 9holes at seven. OVER BOOKED!

Tee sheet and pace of play was seriously mismanaged. Right away our tee time was moved back 30 mins which we didn’t know until we pulled up to hole 1 where there were 4 groups waiting to tee off. The front 9 took almost 3 hours with about 5-10 mins between each shot. I assumed they’d do something to speed up play but there was virtually no attempt. Our round was over 5 hours. The course we played (Mesa Linda) was in good shape and had a fun layout but it’s pretty short. Even from the tips.

Overall we had a fun day but pace management needs serious improvement. If this is the norm, I would not recommend playing at Costa Mesa. If this is not the normal pace then I would definitely recommend.

Took an hour to finish first 2 holes… pace didn’t pick ip

Pace of play was horrible, too many tee times booked and not enough gapping between.

Was a 6 hour round on a Friday at 12 pm

They are blinded by the greed of money, overbooking and making golfers wait. It took 3 hours and 10 minutes to play 9 holes in the first half. Friday 12:57 hot deal was $48 but this is not a hot deal. If you're confident to wait 15 minutes for every hole, please play. The course condition wasn't bad.

Course is cheap for a reason. Round will take 6 hours and you’ll most likely be behind several 5man groups. Stay away

My reflections on the day may be tempered by my first hole-in-one on the 150 yd par 3 17th (Los Lagos).!

Pace of play is an absolute joke here, not sure what the course Marshalls are getting paid to do here. No way a 5k yard course should take 6 hours. If you don’t mind waiting 20 minutes in between every shot then it’s a fine course. Doesn’t help that they started sending out groups of 5. Tee time was scheduled for 9:30am, didnt tee off until 9:55am.

Great golf course that is well maintained. Slower pace but for me I don’t mind as I am in no rush. People at the shop are nice and good at keeping the flow of check in.

Los Lagos was a fun challenge to deal with some added length compared to other local courses. It was fairly well maintained, though fairways do have some bare areas. Greens were good and fair with some challenge due to contours. Generally a well designed course. BUT, the pace of play was terrible with at least 5 minutes of wait time on every tee box. Started at 1:00 and didn't finish till after 6:30. Eventually lost interest in the round as the cold ocean air moved in and the sun started to set behind the cool ocean clouds.

They jam t-times and it’s always a 5 1/2 hour round. If you play in the afternoon, you never finish. The staff knows it and they don’t care!
