5 somes walking
3 sets of 5 somes walking! Equals , 5 hours and 40 minutes. Guess they have pull with Club house- Kyle? You let these inconsiderate golfers out? Hole 18, one guy couldn’t find ball held up the other 4 on green who were waiting for him so they could putt out- 10 minutes wasted. Yeah fun course if you’re in these 5 somes

GREAT COURSE, SLOW PACE
Started at 1154am and ended past dark at around 515pm (Started the 6th tee at 2pm). Course could definitely enforce pace of play better for repeat customers.
Other than that, a great challenge of a course under wet conditions and and reasonably priced for the course that is presented.

Pace of play
1 1/2 hours in and we had only played3 holes. 15 minute wait on every shot. Too crowded!!!

Terrible Pace of Play
Had a tee time booked on sunday at 1240 PM. Walked up to the pro shop, and the person working it looked annoyed to have to check me in. Let me know that they were a little behind. Teed off around 1255 PM. played the front 9 in 3 hours and 15 minutes.
Terrible pace of play, Marshal does absolutely nothing. Tee times being spaced that closely together is a recipe for a terrible pace. Course is affordable, so that's a plus.
Talked to a group on the 18th green, and they said their round took 5.5 hours. ridiculous.

Rude staff/ horrible rate of play
Staff member was super rude when we checked in. He seemed so bothered that we needed him to check us in as we even greeted him with a friendly hello. The rate of play was horrible. We waited 15/20 minutes at every hole. I don’t even know why they have a Marshall as he does nothing to keep the pace up. This has happened multiple times now so I know it’s not a one time thing. I will not be returning.
I am so glad you said that. I thought it was just me being too sensitive, but reading the other comments I am glad I am not off feeling the same way. They are always rude and can't be bothered except to take your credit card.

Great first time experience!
Tee time at 8:32am, had 3 lady seniors in front of me who happened to be faster than the group with me (total of 4), had 1 senior and a couple with me which was ok although the lady was hitting 10-30 yards every shot after a 50-100 yards drives. If you aint ready for the course go to the range or play a short par 4 or par 3 please! Keep the pace of play going, anyways course was a exceptional time 5-6hr round unfortunately .

Said it was 6500+ yards but it’s only 5500 ish yards and really crowded. Not terrible but not what I expected from the listing.

Great Course - Play Early
My first time playing this course and I thought it was great! There were a few things that were out of their control, specifically that it had rained so much in the days prior so the course was very wet and muddy, but that wasn't even a big issue for us. My one recommendation is to play early, it was very busy and if you don't get out early you might play a little slow. We teed of at 7:41 and it was perfect.

Not friendly
Paid to walk and was hooked up with another guy who was in a cart and after 6 holes he said, hey just jump in and we'll play faster so I said OK. when we got to the 9th hole the golf marshal accused me and him of working together to rip the course off of a few dollars. He said if I wanted to ride I had to pay...I went in to pro shop and paid to ride, but now the course got 2 single rider fees in the same cart....So they actually stole from us. I told them the fee should be less and they said since me and my buddy tried to steal from them, that's what it's going to be...I never met the other player before or after that day. Extremely rude and I'll never go back.

Good track, very playable
Greens were in great shape,a nod fairways were average. Overall, a very good public course that is very reasonable. Par 3’s on Los Lagos are all challenging.

Holiday Challenge
Los Lagos is the more challenging of the Two adjoining courses at Costa Mesa. Greens are in great shape, fast and undulating. Fairways are the issue-bald spots and choppy.
One nice thing to mention here. Los Lagos celebrates the Christmas spirit with fair prices.. Most courses in the area around the Christmas holidays celebrate gift giving by giving their loyal customers the shaft!

Pace of Play
Marshalls need to do a better job monitoring and enforcing pace of play. On the long par 3 hole 7 on Lagos, I had to tell the Marshall driving by how to speed up pace by telling the groups to let the group behind hit up.

Pace of play / 5somes
I love CMCC, but the fact that they were running 45 min behind pace and then had the audacity to throw two 5somes in front of us is incredible. At least pretend to you care.

A little gem.
Costa Mesa country club is truly a little gem. It is tucked above open space at one of the highest points in Costa Mesa. Some holes have a view of Palos Verdes. The weather is always good here, cool a nice breeze. Though it is a public course and is heavily played we go there often. The price is right, the staff is friendly, and if you need a lesson Andy Crinella is the best. For a public course, the fairways and greens are in excellent shape right now. A lot of work has gone into maintaining the course. Players seem to be doing better repairing ball marks on the greens. My only criticism is pace of play. There are par 3s sprinkled throughout the course which cause backups. I don't know the answer but perhaps spacing the groups out more would help. Also having a marshall consistently cruise the course to speed play would be very helpful. All in all, a great little golf course for those who don't want to make the commitment to something more permanent.
