The layout features narrow fairways lined with trees and small, gently undulating greens. Accuracy is essential for scoring well on this golf course, especially since there are come subtle but tricky elevation changes to contend with. Even though it's a nine-hole course with only par 3s and par 4s, it still offers a great opportunity to improve your short game skills. Golfer Reviews
Tough Short Course
Course was in good shape and tougher than most would expect. Fun to play but extremely hot day at 97 degrees.
A 'Berry' Great Experience at Blackberry Farm GC
Played @ BBFarm GC today & I had a great 1st time at the course!
My Summary & Ideas on this 9-Hole getaway in Cupertino, CA:
Conveniently located right off a main passageway in Cupertino [Stevens Creek], Convenient distance from major freeways, Sunnyvale/San Jose/Mountain View/SJC Airport.
Pro Shop is well-stocked with both equipment & refreshments.
Was able to snag the great Hot Deal rate near 2:30PM on a Saturday [8/26/17], Was a little crowded & busy with groups waiting to play.
Staff was kind & courteous, Especially when letting myself & my playing partner tee-off as a group of 2, when the other group of 2 didn't show up in time.
Small putting green & 'batting cage' type of structure for swing warm-ups.
As for the course itself, I found it to generally well-kept on both fairways & greens; With tee box conditions being left with a little more to desire.
A sneakily challenging mix of shorter & longer Par 3's & a couple of Par 4's that allow Driver play [For the more experienced golfers, I think the course will at least make You ponder a very good amount of your shots..!!! :)]
Narrow fairways & green sand traps keep you playing honest & focused on accuracy & consistency.
Greens aren't the smallest, & not the biggest, But still demand accuracy & care to knock it close.
I found the greens' slope to be lively on some holes, with a good mix of uphill/downhill looks; Fairly well-kept greens, fairly consistent ball roll.
& As with most 9 Hole courses, definitely a great place to practice your Short/Recovery game, & a great place for Beginners/Youth.
[Didn't get to check out the 19th Hole features, but will definitely add to the review when/if I ever get the chance to check it out.]
I'm a local; Was very satisfied with my experience! Will definitely be back & will certainly add Blackberry GC in Cupertino to my list for a quick golf round & a challenging practice round in my area.
We were a 3some, matched with a single golfer that was very slow and could not golf at all. There was no introduction of the addition. He slowed everyone down, our team and the team behind us were often stood and watched him taking a while to place a tee in the ground and then the ball on the tee, but there was no marshall to help with the situation. The 9-hole game took us almost 3 hours when it is usually 1.5 hour game. It would be a big improvement if there could be a easy way to report to this situation to staff.
Great value - Light atmosphere
Great course and awesome deal for a 9-hole par 3 course. Everyone else on the course was super friendly, pace of play was great, and an overall, enjoyable, easily playing course (with two par 4's!!). While yes there are some super short holes, the distances were surprisingly varied for your typical 9-hole par 3
One of nice nine hole course
Well maintained course with two par 4 and long par 3. Quite challenging from this tight layout course since the accuracy is very important than distance. Staff is very friendly! Will play more in the future!
Fun little course...
Enjoyed playing Blackberry Farm golf course with my son for the first time yesterday. Nice little course that was in good shape, and good value for the money ($11 for twilight). Staff was very friendly as well. I'd play it again.
Nice walk among the trees
The course is a short par 3 course with 2 par 4's. The course is tree lined and very narrow. The greens are very small and so you have a decent chance to hole a put once you are on the greens.
Our 3 some played 9 holes in an hour and there were only 1 or 2 other groups on the course on a Tuesday afternoon.
The fairways were not tightly mown but since these were mostly par 3's, not a big deal. The tee boxes were also not flat.
But a great walk and a peaceful spot in Cupertino. You can work on your iron game and chipping.
I would recommend highly.
Course could be better maintained
Course is walkable. Layout is not particularly interesting. Some greens had bare patches, especially where shaded. Recent rain may have been a problem.
Good enough for a quick and cheap round!
This is not a luxury course. Some of the holes are kinda funky but they are well maintained.
This is just a good little course to get in 9 holes really quickly at a very low price. I've played here many times and it is usually wide open. You can blast through a round in less than an hour or take your time and hit multiple practice shots.
Well worth the cost.
Improved grass conditions. Friendly staffers.
I played this course often during the beginning year and occasionally as a practice course nowadays. It is low cost, $5-8, easy to get tee time, perfect for scheduling, even for a group of friends tough to find common play time. Several holes are very narrow, so be prepared for balls flying from other sides and stay cool. The trees and deep grasses make it easy to lost balls, reminding me to pay attention to my swings. Don't mistaken it as an easy course. My biggest complain is that the greens are very rough, quite a bit slower than other courses. The course is short and the plays are slow in weekends. Sometimes I can repeat some of the holes at late times when the course is empty. Hopefully the staffers will keep letting players regulate themselves (repeat plays instead of yelling at the guys in front).
deceptively challenging
This course seems easy since it's only par 29 and has a very low slope rating, but it's actually a bit tricky. Some of the holes are narrow with trouble left and right. Some of the greens are slightly raised so you need your ball to check up. If you miss greens your short game needs to be impressive for you to make par. Good luck parring the 6th, 7th and especially the last hole.
A great little course for 9 holes
Great little 9 hole course. The deals on this site make it even more worth it. Its a cute little course which is around homes and a busy street but it feels like your by yourself. There used to be a nice water feature but since the drought that has been taken away. Overall a great little course for 9 holes
Good for a quick 9
2nd time playing on a weekend and both times they let me head out there on my own. This is a par 29 and there are a lot of newbies out there so the pace can be slow. Be prepared for that. This particular time the place was fairly empty so I took my time out there. Still finished in just over an hour and no one caught up to me.
The course has long 3's, short 3's and a couple of short 4's. Excellent if you just want a fun 9 holes. Especially if you get the Golf Now "hot deal".
Cute course for beginners
We took two beginners to play their first round of golf. We all had a very good time. The place is well lined with trees. Fairways are short and narrow so you can practice accuracy. . Most holes are par 3. Its a cute little course for beginners. The staffs are very pleasant and friendly.
Fun to walk
Great location for a nice walk and a little golf
Everyone very friendly and scenery very pleasant.
