Desert Dunes Golf Course has a unique layout that combines a traditional links design with true desert-style golf. The course winds through natural sand dunes that are accented with mature trees and an abundance of native vegetation. It offers one of the most challenging rounds in the valley with narrow fairways, dramatic elevation changes, and fast, sloped greens. Collection areas and strategically placed bunkers border the greens. The most interesting of these bunkers can be found on the ninth and 18th holes where it sits in the center of the signature double green. There are also water hazards that come into play on several holes. In addition to the challenging round, the golf course offers scenic views of the surrounding mountains as well as the opportunity to play amongst wildlife including rabbits, roadrunners, bobcats, and even the occasional desert kit fox.

Was worth it

It was my first time playing. It was awesome the course was challenging, and didn’t know what to expect the course is very well kept. But it was weird to see the fairways punched so late in the season. Oh well…. I would definitely play at this course again

A little beat up right now, but still a great track

Have played and loved this course for years. It's always a little on the "natural" side in terms of course condition, but as of this writing it's more beat up than usual. If you're a strict play-it-as-it-lies type, you're going to have a rough time. But if you allow a little nudge to find a decent piece of grass, you'll have a ball.

Great design terrible management

It's a great design and could be a beautiful course. Front nine is teach. Back nine is in better shape but this place needs some love. The range was a joke and out of balls there are better courses in the valley.

Course is in bad shape.

I played here about 7 years ago and the course was nice. I’m not sure what happened between then and now, but the course has gone completely downhill. Greens were terrible, tee boxes were poorly maintained, and mast of the fairways were barren.

I would not spend the money to play here again.

Decent course needs upgrades

Decent course early in the morning. Layouts are interesting and tee shots are important. Greens are slow

Course needs a lot of upgrades though. Bunkers are not playable.

I would visit more in the future if course condition improves

They Let It Go

It must have been a classic and some point, but this course is rundown and made much harder because of it. Greens are bad. Tee boxes unkept. Someone buy this and fix it!

I have played this course 20 times, but no since COVID. The layout is great it can get windy but the course is set up for 6 holes down wind, 6 into the wind and 6 side wind.

The course needs some TLC.

The staff was very friendly.

Good news, we were two of 4 crazy golfers battling 40 plus mile an hour winds. I use to really enjoy this course. I love the lay out, but it is needing some TLC.

Golf at Desert Dunes

Very interesting golf course. I wouldn't recommend this course for beginners. High degree of difficulty. If you keep the ball in the fairway you are in good shape. Stay out of the bunkers.

I enjoyed the challenge of positioning my next shot. If you try to overpower this course you will not score well.
