Great pace of play
The pace of play was excellent under four hours round. The course was in good condition nice fairways and greens. The green side bunkers aren't consistent some have sand and some are hard packed. Overall fun track and a great pace of play and a very friendly staff.
Rough pace, nice greens.
Pace of play was so bad we left early. No ranger to enforce speed and average group was in just over 5 hours. Course is in okay shape. Greens rolled well, tee box and fairways need some work.
Use to be great
The course is in need help they did a nice job on the area's around the water hazards but the fairways have a lot of dead areas and a lot of the sand traps have no sand
Over priced
New rate hikes and membership fees will be the downfall of the course. $150 rounds open up way more convenient options with less expensive courses. Too bad
Good Course, Bad Money Grab
This was my third time playing Enagic in the past three years. I booked on GolfNow.com, and chose the San Diego County rate, as I live in the county. It was a Friday and my green fee was $81 as a county resident; however, to get that rate, as opposed to the $150 out of county rate, I had to purchase a $40 "county resident card," which is can only be used on their course. In order to get the card I had to show my driver's license, which proved I was a resident, and there was no further verification that I live in the county. If that is how you prove residency, logic would say that your driver's license would suffice....$40 wasted...
The staff was friendly and the course was in good shape. The layout is fun and the greens were on point!
$81 was pretty steep, and $120 was way overpriced for this course.
Underrated Course - Great Value
Had a great round on Father's Day. Pace of play was excellent for stacked times ahead of us on a holiday. Completed the round in 4.5 hours. The course was very lush with perfect lies out of the fairways and putts rolling true. They're working on their bunkers, so there were a few that were bare and should be played as ground under repair. Love all the improvements being done to the course. It's in the best shape I've seen it in a very long time. Worth every penny! Can't wait to play it again!
Be aware!
Boycotting Eastlake/Enagic! I'm a local who has lived in this community for 25 years. The "Resident Card" is a terrible idea for us locals who have been supporting them from day one. It's a simple ID check when booking that alleviates the challenges they're having. I'll never play this course again!
Eastlake...aka Enagic
This course was once call "Eastlake". While I enjoy the layout, conditions tended to be slightly less than good. Hard traps, bald spots on fairways, muddy cart paths and less than average greens, but for $60 fees, it was a decent value. Fast forward to what is now the same course with a new name "Enagic" and fees over $100...not a good value at all. THey recently created a tiered fee of County Resident and Non resident, but they charge $40 for the resident card. Just another sneaky way to get more money. But hey...I'm about a 20, so what does my opinion matter?
False Pricing NOT worth the price
I booked my round through GolfNow at the advertised San Diego County resident rate of $99. However, upon arrival at the pro shop, I was told that to receive this rate, I needed to purchase a $40 resident card that’s only valid at Enagic Golf Club. Without it, the rate jumped to $150. On top of that, the course had standing water in several areas, which significantly affected playability. Given the conditions and unclear pricing, this course is not worth the $150 rate.
The Card doesn’t make sense
Enagic’s new policy requiring a “ SD county resident “ card for $40 in order to get the SD resident rate, makes zero sense. I understand requiring guest to prove they live in the county or even the city but a state issued drivers license should suffice! This in my opinion is a “ money grab “. If someone can prove their residency of the county, the city and even the Eastlake neighborhood, why do they need to pay $40 for a card issued by your course?
Scam alert
Booked through GolfNow at the "San Diego County Resident" rate, because I'm a county resident. That's not what that term means at Enagic though. They've decided to name their own membership program "Enagic San Diego County Resident Program", not what it's called here, but when I checked in I was informed that I'd have to pay the +$40 rate or buy their membership card for $40 to be considered a resident. No other courses use this system, it's just a quick way to upcharge.
They're knowingly misleading GolfNow users with a name similar to the city's municipal resident card, and sticking it to them when they check in. Scummy behavior for a few bucks.
This program went into effect June 1, so it's new. Don't give these jerks a reason to extend it.
I paid the full rate (no membership) because I'll never go back. Vibes way off.
Wet & Soggy
Played the back 9 and they had just ran the sprinklers within the last hour in the middle of the day. Every fairway was wet, soaked & muddy and made it impossible to hit good shots. As always they rope off 3 sections of fairways causing a lot of walking. Only reason we continue to play there monthly is for Chula Vista discount making it $65. Appears to be a top course but once you play it, many flaws throughout which are disappointing.
Eastlake Golf
My husband & I had a great round. The pace was steady , if a little slow. The restaurant was average & service didn’t earn the 20% tip I gave. We don’t have a post round drink which we would have otherwise done
Beautiful vistas of the mountains & well baited course
Not worth the money
They’ve raised their prices significantly over the years. Used to like the course but it is under constant renovation with fairways always being worked on and bunkers a nightmare (I know just don’t out into them lol)
But the kicker….now they want to charge an annual $40 SD resident card. What an absolute joke!!! I can get the actual SD City card for $25 and play Torrey and Balboa. Why not just ask for ID to verify if they’re “getting taken advantage of with players lieing about being residents”
