Great to swing your sticks
I’ve played this course many times. It’s come along way, as far as Greens conditions. You can tell they put lots of work in. All 18 Greens were playable. Fairways were nice and manicured. A little pricey, but all courses have raised their rates. I’ll be back & I’ll bring a friend
Much improved
Under the new ownership and the tireless work of the staff. The course is in great shape. It’s been a long time coming. The greens are in excellent shape and it won’t be long before the rest of the course follows.
First round!
Driving range is mats, not grass, which is a bummer. Can’t use your own tees so your stuck on fixed rubber tees. Range balls were in good condition. The driving range isn’t flat so it is difficult to judge range. Their isn’t a range key to know how long the markers are placed. They did have a decent short range and putting practice area.
Club house failed to notify me of the 30 minute frost delay after multiple interactions with the staff. The starter does a good job of announcing next on tee.
The golf carts are nice with great bucket seats and gps system. However, the speed is too throttled, giving me almost no power, making trips between shots take too long.
The tee boxes were in good condition, from the blacks. The fairways are a mixed grass and have good variety. The sand traps are average but most people failed to rake after use. The greens were way too hard and need to be aerated. The rough isn’t quality and mostly bleeds over into the fairway.
The worst parts was a lack of marshaling pace of play. The group in front was so slow that we spent nearly 3 hours on the front nine. We finally had to ask to play through on 12 and finished in 5 hours when it really should have taken 3.5.
The refreshment cart passed by several times so thumbs up for the party golfers out there.
Overall I enjoyed the course and would play again crossing my fingers that the pace of play is adequate.
Good Course
Fun course too play. Good condition with a friendly staff.
But, over priced! Chula Vista is showing improvement and Bonita always steady is a big reason Seniors play the other courses more often especially on the weekends!
I play two to three times a week. Eastlake is fun but not affordable.
Horrible pace of play
They stack tee times every 7 minutes which creates a back up on every. single. shot. We get you’re money hungry but figure it out. This course has potential to be fun to play, but it is no where near long enough to warrant a 5 plus hour round. I left after 14 holes after getting stuck behind a group which were hitting multiple shots and what seemed like instruction was taking place?? Not sure why you bring your wife out on the course when she struggles immensely. Stick to the range. Marshall driving around but not doing his job. Will not be playing this course for a while.
Much improved
I’ve played this course several times in the past but stayed away lately because the course really needed work… well, I’m very glad to be back. They aren’t “ there” yet but the course is definitely improved. They have really done some good work out there.
If you were like me and staying away, I recommend giving them another look… you might be impressed.
Pace was slow and we didn’t get off on time but it was a beautiful day so, no real worries.
Good job guys.
Great staff. Conditions still poor.
The course has after layout but the conditions have been going downhill and worried they’ll never pick it up. Tons of rough patches throughout the course and every shade of rough you can think of. Very inconsistent conditions between holes. Greens were okay. Some holes were choppy.
Staff was very friendly and great. Just tough to imagine paying $80 for a course in these conditions. Lots of better choices in that price range.
Good round, Slow pace
The course was overall in pretty good condition. Just a few issues: The sand traps could be in better condition with soft sand. The greens were in great condition except for all the ball marks that golfers ahead of us didn't bother to fix. I fixed at least 2 other ball marks per green. And the pace was a bit slow. We cam to a halt on a majority of the holes as the 2 groups ahead of us were slowing things down. Please move these groups along so they don't cause a traffic jam behind them.
