Fair to middling
Chastain is a very traditional, old school, nice lay out. I love the smaller greens, not so massive and difficult with multiple tiers as well. It is a fair course, not so ridiculously tough and punishing line so many of the newer courses. But it is not a pushover track, either - there are some challenging holes. Some areas of the course are in pretty good shape, and some are pretty rough. Greens are a little bumpy, not horrible but not great. Fair amount of the tee boxes are not in good shape, need woro. With a little extra effort and care, this could be a great course, that I would gladly pay more money to play. And way more often.
finally 18 holes
Great to play the whole course even with the wet conditions.
Not bad…if you don’t have anywhere else to play!
Back nine is closed. I wish golf now informed you when booking. Too far of a drive a lot of time spent, playing a disappointing front nine twice.
Terrible Experience
My friends and I had booked to play 18 holes of golf through your platform, but upon arrival, we found out that the entire back 9 was closed and we had to play the front nine twice.
We were extremely disappointed to find out that we would not be able to play the full 18 holes that we had paid for. If we had been aware of this beforehand, we would have never made the booking in the first place. It is incredibly frustrating to have paid for a service that was not delivered as promised. We rely on GolfNow to provide accurate and up-to-date information about golf courses, especially when we make bookings in advance. We expected that you would have informed us about the closure of the back 9 before we made the booking. We feel that this is not only an inconvenience, but it also goes against the trust we place in your service.
We would appreciate it if you could take the necessary steps to ensure that such an issue does not happen again in the future. We hope that you will take our complaint seriously and that you will take steps to ensure that your service lives up to the high standards that we have come to expect from GolfNow.
Course needs work
We learned the front nine was closed due to cart path replacement. We were offered to play the back nine twice. The fairways were very wet and washed out. Not a good golfing experience. We definitely did not opt to play the back nine again.
Fun Course
Really fun course and the rate of play was about perfect.
Only complaint was that the carts were not clean, and have trash in them, and parking is horrible. There’s no designated parking for golf, so you’re competing everyone else.
The course had some standing water and really muddy parts, but overall I can’t wait to come back and play again!
Average City Course with Sub-Par Staff
We arrived 15 minutes before our 9:54 tee time to check in. The course would not find the tee time scheduled through GolfNow and eventually found it by looking up my last name. They informed be the tee time was 9:27 and they had moved it up - yet they had not contacted me in any way. Looking through the details, it appeared they had moved up about 20 tee times to accommodate a tournament that day. This added an estimated 16 groups to the packer schedule of the morning. This was all extremely frustrating on top of the large amount of standing water making some holes mostly unplayable.
Paving front 9 cart path
The front nine cart path was being paved so only the back nine was open. Was not made aware of this.
Not Very good THIS TIME..
Well I've played this course before and been pleased over all, this time was not a good experience because of the fact they are doing golf card walkway repairs on the front nine(which is good and well needed) but nothing was mentioned about this online when booking a 18 hole outting . The pace of play was horrible due to this and playing the back nine 2x to make my paid 18 hole round. The fairways are 40% dirt at this time in need of grass growth.. the carts need upgrading\replacing. The staff was doing the best they can to accommodate but definitely was disappointed with this course. Seems it will be like this for a while as they plan the close and do the back 9 after the front is completeld.
Front 9 is Closed
The front 9 is currently closed for cart path construction. We didn't find out until the starter told us to go to 10th tee. We just played the back 9 twice. It's the less interesting 9 holes (the front 9 is really great). I like this course normally, but won't play it again until the front 9 is open again.
Great course, slow play
Great course but this place is notorious for taking forever. I would play here more often if they staggered the tee times a bit. Only reason I play there now is because i live close and the course is pretty good for the price. Be prepared for a 5 hour (I have played when it took 6 hours before) round.
Also- they don't have much in the club house.
