Chastain Park Golf Course

Need I say more? Ghetto staff doesn’t even great you when you walk in the completely empty clubhouse. Carts on their last leg, course looks like it’s run by the city. Microcosm of Atlanta. Shame…….. location & price can’t be beat.

The staff is awesome and enjoy talking with them. Never finished 18 due to slow play pace. Not sure if that is typical for an early Friday but didn’t want to sit in traffic.

Nice course. Wish they had a driving range and offered food.

I've played here 25 times over the years. This is a standard municipal course in a nice setting.

Biggest thing here is play early. After lunch it gets slow. On the weekends it gets very slow since every non golfer plays here. If you get an early tee time up till about 1 you should be able to get outta here in 4 to 41/2 hours.

Course layout is fine with good variety of topography. The rangers are fine just don't expect them to speed up play since that would violate the rights of slow golfers.

I was paired with a good group. Really no complaints.

You get what you pay for at Chastain which is not saying much. The clubhouse staff was rude, arrogant, and unhelpful when inquiring about a rain check as the floodgates had opened after the 9th hole. Really frustrated because I paid for the whole round and only got half but hey welcome to Golf Now where every round is a gamble.

Other than that there is no driving range and no practice area to really warm up on save from some tiny greens. The course was jammed packed and play was extremely slow. The course itself is meh, some difficult holes with lots of trouble and out of bounds. The par 4’s were all kind of the same length and there were many forced carries with little safe options. The greens are overly slow and looked like they hadn’t been cut in a month and the course was absolutely flooded by rain. Honestly, I am very disappointed, course has potential but the city are not the right managers or owners for that property. Do yourself a favor and play somewhere else even if you have to pay more.

Club house had nothing to eat or drink for sale. Thank goodness for water coolers on the course. Also, parking instructions were not given at it took a while to figure out where to park as course is part of bigger sport complex and there's people everywhere. Good course layout and well kept.

unfortunately there are a ton of geese and droppings everywhere. On some holes you have to be careful not to hit them. Additionally pace of play was very bad. Expect a 20 minute wait each hole likely due to overbooking. Players we got paired with were friendly and we made the most of it.
