Good course
Missing fairways can be deadly, greens are in good condition, staff is super. Parking on street, no snacks, no driving range. Good values and some fun and challenging holes. First time there and be back for sure.
I used to play Chastain 2-3 times a month in the mid 1990's. It was far better then. Hadnt played it in 25+ years.
Come on City of Atanta. Raise the price $10 a round and use the money to put back in to the golf course. Gras on all the fairways would be a great start.
Quit after 14 holes because pace of play was so SSSLLLOOOWWW.
Great location and good value
The course location is very convenient if you live in buckhead. Nice layout but few blind shots. Course is beat up a bit. It again good location and value and nice layout.
No amenities!!
Beware.. The check in hut sells nothing other than 12oz waters and only takes cards with a stripe! No phone pay or chipped cards or cash. No food either. Pace of play was slow. Took us 51/2 hours to play 18. I would only recommend this course during the week when parking wouldn’t be such an issue. And just bring your own food/drink even though it says no coolers.
Terrible pacing and greens
Really enjoyed this course in the past, but this time around the pacing was awful (10/15 minute wait for each shot) and the greens and fairways were in terrible shape.
Clubhouse needs amenities of some sort. At least a water fountain to fill water bottles at the break (had to fill mine in the bathroom sink).
In Great Shape
The course and especially the greens were in great shape. The fairways were recently mowed and made for a very fast track. Fun.
Rode hard and put away wet
Greens are all pretty beat up. Broken tees and little grass were the norm. Most of the fairways were hard packed dirt with some grass. The layout is nice, the course challenging (at least for me). It is a shame to not see a little bit of investment to keep it a decent course.
Dirt
The amount of trees and water makes for a tough round, but I love it. I only lost three balls during the round. 14 Of 18 fairways were hit and probably 12 of them I’ve had to hit my second shot off of three blades of grass and a bunch of hard red clay. This course used to have great fairways years ago. Now you just have to hit off of dirt.
