Chastain Park Golf Course

The amount of trees and water makes for a tough round, but I love it. I only lost three balls during the round. 14 Of 18 fairways were hit and probably 12 of them I’ve had to hit my second shot off of three blades of grass and a bunch of hard red clay. This course used to have great fairways years ago. Now you just have to hit off of dirt.

The price is right and booking a tee time was not difficult. It is a municipal golf course so you get what you pay for.

Owned and maintained by the city. So don’t expect club house, carts, tees, greens, fairways to be as good as privately owned and run courses. It’s not. But it is playable and challenging so definitely give it a try.

Fairway conditions very rough. Tee boxes ok. Layout was fun - good bones, you can see how it could be a very good course if taken care of.

Close course bc arbitrarily make you prepay and stuck with out a place to play

Lots of leaking on sprinkler

Greens need to be punched and sanding

Ball wasters need to be filled with soap and water

Cart paths need to be redone

Bridge need repair

Golf carts are not clean probably they just 3 years old

Tee boxes need to be leveled and re grass

Love this course. Pretty Challenging and Fun. They were air-rating the fairways and around the greens but definitely playable. Must go back in a few weeks

Excellent course if you don’t mind playing “ready golf” and simply want to practice. Expect to be matched with someone (or a group) almost every time if you play as a single. People might also play quickly behind you, simultaneous to people playing a little slow in front of you, creating a bit of a bottleneck.
