Classic old layout. Lots of up and down hills but not that tough. Beautiful greens with challenging undulations. Great views of the Bay Area all the way out to the Golden Gate. Five Stars.

The views of the Bay Area are some of the best I’ve seen. The course is challenging but fair. The value for the price point is great. The staff is super-friendly, as was the member I played with.

First time at the course. Very enjoyable and challenging. The greens have multiple tiers so local knowledge will help those that play the course multiple times. Lots of elevation changes and simply gorgeous views of SF, the golden gate bridge and the fog rolling in.

Tremendous club in need of a little TLC with perhaps the worst sand I have ever seen in 47 years of playing golf, some places you sink in a foot or so. We just rake and place the ball in the bunkers.

With a little extra mowing down of the natural areas and new sand this club would be outstanding and probably not have the membership problems that it has.

I have been playing BCC/ MV on and off for decades and really enjoy the clu.

No idea why they are opening this ‘private’ course to the public. Played twice on two separate weekends, and course was busy/slow on both occasions. If I were a member, well, i’d no longer be a member. I was trying to talk myself into joining before playing - not even a consideration now. Staff not welcoming. Course ‘fine’. Pace of play abysmal. Amenities non-existent.

Very nice course. Very good conditions. Some holes reminiscent of Spyglass and Pebble. Great views of the Bay.

Was excited to play the course but it highly disappointed. Note to staff, just because we book on golfnow does not mean we should be treated differently than other customers! I thought about joining a few months ago and after today’s experience, happy I didn’t. Course is browning & greens were running slow. Definitely a different experience than San Jose Country Club (highly recommend)!

Very well maintained course in the hills. Gets very windy that adds to the challenge. You will need to play few times to get hang of the roll on the greens. Overall a gem in El Cerrito hills.

Beautiful course and clubhouse, well kept and very scenic. I'm not particularly fond of mountain courses with undulated lies yet I enjoyed Berkeley country club very much.

When considering the value of the member for a day pass is a no-brainer.

Got a member for a day deal for 67 bucks on GN. First time playing here, and I enjoyed it a lot. Very hilly course. I think I only had a handful of shots all day that I didn't have to club up or down due to the elevation change, which you really need to respect because I was consistently coming up short on uphill shots. Beautiful views of the bay and SF. Course was in pretty nice shape, no complaints. On the first hole the group in front of us had a player take about 10 shots to reach the green, but they immediately let us play through on the second and we didn't have to wait to hit another shot until probably the 14th. Finished in about 3 1/2 hrs. Will definitely buy that deal again if I see it.
