Emerald Lakes was a victim of a flood in 2016 but quickly recovered and was in great shape for 2017 Photo submitted by u000003849698 on 03/29/2018
Casual Monday
Enjoyed my return to Emerald Lakes. Course is in great shape. Very few dry spots. Great greens.
no so good
The course looks good, greens are fast, the freeway is along property line and vary noisy. the other side is industrial and trashie. I think i will pass on this course.
Challenging
Abit noisy from the freeway but a good course
Best 9hole course in Sacramento
Friendly and helpful staff willing to take care of a golfers needs. Well maintained course. Greens are like velvet. Fairways in check. Overall great place for a quick round under two hours
Great experience
I am a beginner golfer and I could not be more satisfied with this course. The staff was friendly. Pace of play was great and the course was in great condition. I will definitely play here again..
Nice 9 holer, windy day
Apr 2016:
Convenient location for us, quick 9 holes, nice / great conditions..
Great course for couples
My girlfriend and I booked a last minute round online for a great price. Pace of play started a little slow, but picked up after the 3rd hole. This is a great course with a good mix of difficulty both of us enjoyed. I would recommend this course for all skill levels.
Challenging pin placements !
Emerald Lakes has a nice layout for nine holes. The pin placements are strategically positioned on the greens that require slight uphill and downhill putts. The greens were rolling smooth and swift, better swift than slow and rough.
My Home Course
First, I must tell you this write-up has a slight slant of being biased. I have been a Players Assistant at this nine hole gem for many years. I don't play the course much anymore for scoring purposes, but do practice there when needed. It is a par 33 measuring approximately 2350 yards. The slope is 106, but don't let that fool you. The course is tight and water is definitely in play on six of the nine holes. Club selection and placement is very important to score well. The greens are the best in the valley. They are sloping and undulating for the most part, but they roll true. I estimated about a 10 on the meter. Emerald Lakes is also a great practice facility often hosting more than one Long Drive Champion.
Pro shop is rude
Mapped location of course on this website is incorrect. As a result I checked in 5 minutes after my tee time. The rude guy in the pro shop wanted to charge me an extra $12 for being late, even though the group I was playing were still waiting to tee off. The course was in decent shape but there are multiple distractions form honking cars on the adjacent freeway, passing trains, and overhead power lines.
Speedy greens!
First time out at this course. It was visually appealing and I found a number of the holes quite challenging...water hazard and bunker placement, plus speedy greens test your skills. The pace of play was quick with no delays. I will definitely return in the near future.
Great little course
Nice little 9 whole course. Not too challenging but you can get into trouble if you're not careful. A well kept course. Greens are always nice.
9 holes
Challenging for a great price n well maintained course
Course For All
Haven't played this course in over 15 years, still in nice shape. Sand traps and greens were in very good shape and the fairways were very nice also. They have some very nice practice facilities as well, chipping green, sand trap, putting green and a nice driving range. Had 2 twosomes in front of me and still finished in 1 hour and 45 minutes. This course is for everyone. I highly recommend this course.
Great 9 hole course.
Played with brother in law. Cold morning with breeze making it colder. came upon slower groups, was allowed to play thru with marshall letting them know we were coming. Course in good shape. Greens excellent, fast. Great overall for bogey or better golfers. Able to use all clubs.
Short and challenging
Definitely a course to hone your skills at. Challenging par 3's, 4's and lone par 5. Reasonably priced. Good to walk or ride.
Great place to play!!!!
Emerald Lakes is a great course I learn to play on the course faculty was most helpful very friendly grounds are always Capwell driving range always available great place to play golf.
Great Driving Range
The Driving Range has always been when needed. Has both matt and grass area's to hit. Matts are in good shape. The balls used are newer, not old or mixed(half dead). Prices are reasonable and can purchase a card for $20 and they add $22 of credit. The lights at night are good, no problem while hitting. They have a chipping area with sand that they supply balls for free. The putting area is a good size and always in good shape. Staff has always been friendly when questions asked.
Have not had the opportunity to play the course yet, but will.
