Emerald Lakes was a victim of a flood in 2016 but quickly recovered and was in great shape for 2017 Photo submitted by u000003849698 on 03/29/2018

Great, pace of play excellent. Finish the round in 1 hour 20 minutes.
Fun an challenging.
This course has a fun yet challenging layout. It is relatively short on yardage, but has plenty of water and sand traps to test your accuracy. The course was in great overall condition with plenty of lush grass and nice greens. I really loved playing this course.
Best 9 holes in the Sacramento area!
This course is perfect for us not so young, not so great players who just want to play golf without breaking the retirement bank! Enough challenge without killing us. Wish they sold a beer for celebrating after the game!
First time
Great course condition lush & green fairways, nice fluffy sand in bunkers. Great value & place to hone your game
Well kept course, crummy location
Everything is nice about this 9 hole par 33 course except the layout. If you can look past the power lines, towers, freeway and railways you'll love it. The fairways are nice, the traps are the best and the greens are primo. Not to mention the Emerald color ponds and tree lined fairways. They have a nice chipping area and practice trap along with both grass and mat driving range. Too bad it's laid out in a noise polluted location. Still it's a great practice track!
The course is a little challenge for the beginner.
This course is a little challenge for the beginner especially the 7th hole has a pond in the middle, a little missed calculation can end up swim for the ball. The 9th hole also have a pond and a longer fairway so a little bit unusual compared to the surrounding courses, the fairway is spectacular. Every hole is a challenger, the tall giant electrical pole blocking the fairway giving only a small amount of space to pass thru. You'd get a sense of nervous when tee off the first hole after that it'll take you to a second hole up the hill. Then into the third hole is a little privacy area surrounding by the tall redwood tree. The best time to play here in the summer is early morning or evening.
Short But Sweet.
Emerald Lakes is a short but sweet course. The course is well maintained and presents a few exciting holes. Emerald's par 5 hole has a narrow fairway, the par 3 is over pond, and final hole requires a precision shot off the tee, or a left to right fade. This 9 hole course is about 2400 yards and is fun size....SWEET!!!
Emerald Lakes GC
Not going to lie I play this course a lot and over the years it has gotten better! The staff is friendly and courteous! The course is always in great shape! I practice here about 3 times a week and usually play nine holes 1-2 times a week and keep coming back! The value is there! They just take really good care of the course from tee to green! I recommend very highly!
A "gem" of a 9-hole layout
Picturesque, well-maintained course (greens in excellent condition...golfers, repair your ball mark plus one, please!) AND fairly challenging for the average player. We will definitely be back.
Course in Great Condition
Excellent day for golf. Pace of play was great. The course is in great shape.
Good, Better and Best
The food selection is weak but the rest of the off course amenities are good. This is one of the few courses with a nice practice sand trap. The fairways are fair with some narrow goose neck openings and some water/sand hazards. The well manicured mostly small target greens are better than most Muni courses anywhere. The sand traps are the best I've had the pleasure to play. I love that white fluffy tropical sand. If you can't get a good shot out the sand it's your problem! I don't like playing next to the sound of freeway traffic and I have hit the power lines that cross the fairways with my drive but at least It's quick and easy to get to. So, I can play 9 with a 2.5 hr. window of free time.
great course
fun course with plenty of challenges & a great price.
Emerald. Lakes
We enjoy this course. It is well kept and when we were there, we had no wait time at all. All in all a very enjoyable round!
Best greens in NoCal
This 9 hole municipal course is BEAUTIFUL! It has all the traditional hazards (water & sand) and is impeccably maintained. The greens are some of the best in NoCal (comparable to Yocha Dehe) and their sand bunkards have the softest & flufiest sand that I've ever played (which includes Poppy Hills)! I wish they sold more food and/or beer but otherwise this a great course to play.
Pleasantly surprised
Hadn't played this course for years and was surprised at how well it was maintained, even has sand in the traps. Short on clubhouse amenities and little pricey for 9 holes, otherwise very pleasant hour and a half.
