Balboa
Fairways and bunkers are not maintained very well. Greens are in pretty good condition.
Teed off at 4:10 and managed to finish in the dark for approx a four hour round which is always nice. Paired up with some real nice guys. Tee boxes in good shape. I had some real nice fairway lies mostly. The greens a bit inconsistent on speed but overall ok. Looks like not one person had used a rake there in weeks, the greenside bunkers were a wreck. Overall, glad we have accessible and affordable muni golf in our area.
Good course terrible staff
Overall the course was pretty decent. Fairways and greens are well maintained and the ruff is consistent. Pace is not too great because it seems like they overbook. However, The staff quality is awful, as soon as i walked in to check in for my tee time i was met with a terrible attitude by not only one of the pro shop workers but both. Specifically the older guy, he didn’t offer any hospitality and messed up our green fees multiple times. Overall 2.5/5 but without the good maintenance probably a 1/5.
Some of the bunkers are going down fast. Tee boxes and greens good. The fairways are hit and miss. You may hit a hard pan spot and get another 15 yards :)
A pair of slow pokes following each other around with zero concept of ready golf were in front of us on the 4:20 time which means we barely finished in the dark. Some of you need to get a clue for real. Smh
NOT HONEST
I Purchased a Tee Time with a CART. When I checked in with the Pro Shop; they said I had to Share a cart with a Stranger. If I wanted my one Cart I had to Pay an additional $ 17.00. I have only experienced another similar type of RIP OFF like this in the Past; @ EL CARISO GC. When I complained the Pro there backed Off.
Easy course, anyone can play
It's a pretty straightforward course. Flat, generous fairways, not long. A good place to get a low score.
Average course in fair condition.
Decent layout in fairly good condition. Nothing special, but playable for the average player.
Decent course to work on your game
It’s a decent course, pretty open as in fairways. Not to much trouble to get into from tees.. conditions are fair for a city course. Could be better.
It’s fairly priced for what you get ..
