Black Creek Golf Club
About
Black Creek Golf Club is an 18-hole, championship course that is conveniently situated less than an hour from Savannah. The course sprawls across acres of rolling countryside, surrounded by nothing but lush meadows and hills, providing the round with peaceful seclusion. The layout is player friendly enough for all skill levels and the blue tees are enough of a challenge for more advanced players. The front nine has a wide-open links-style layout that provides an interesting contrast to the back nine, which is characterized by tree-lined, narrow fairways. The greens are large and undulating and sometimes framed with strategically placed bunkers. The golf course winds through scenic coastal marshes and wetlands, which come into play on 13 holes. There is even an island green on Black Creek Golf Club's signature hole, the par-3 15th.

Course was undesirable because of much needed renovations. Recently played 18 holes there and WOW!!! Better greens, layout, and foliage maintenance with more improvements to come. I tolerated a late start due to the high customer attendance but it was worth the wait. Look forward to playing again on Friday.
Pleasantly Surprised
Last year, I swore I would never pay to play here again. I found out the course was purchased, played, wow....Bad greens had been totally replaced, tee boxes had grass. Playing again this week. As good as shape or better than any other semi or public course.
Great course great food !
Great time at black creek . The food is excellent!!
Good round
The course is fun to play. There's not much of a cart path so you can do off roading between shots.. I really enjoyed the course.
Blackcreek Golf day
I play early when I travel, but enjoy playing with others, today was less fun. The course, staff and facility was good, they are at no fault, but playing a new course by ones self is not as fun. Staff should try connecting single players to members and encourage regular players to allow guests to join them. There are tips and warnings that would be helpful to first time guests. I see a good value for costs in this course, will keep it in mind for future play.
Hi again
Black Creek has gone through thick and thin over the years. I quit playing it a couple of years ago when grass on the tees was thin and the overall condition wasn’t worth the drive or the money.
I saw the course was back on GolfNow and I had passed by and saw holes 12-13 from the road. They looked well groomed so I thought I’d return. The course is in good shape, the rates are reasonable and I’d return again soon. Good job Black Creek.
Surprisingly good!
The course was in pretty good shape. Played here about 3 months ago and the greens were in terrible shape. A friend said it was better so tried it out and I was impressed. They looked 100 times better. Still a little bit of work to do but definitely worth the money now.
Nice !
Fairways decent, greens super nice !! Quick but not stupid...staff friendly and accomodating.....tough to beat for the money...go play ...its a nice course, challenging, but fun for the average golfer....again, greens are super nice !!!!
Much improved
I played this course last year and was not impressed. A lot of improvements have been made especially the greens.I have zero complaints. Tee boxes and fairways were good. The greens were great. I will definitely be back.
Black Creek
Bad Day At Black Creek
4 holes closed on front nine, holes 3, 4, 5, and 6. Greens on remaining holes were in bad shape and freshly sanded, except fo 16, 17, and 18 which weren’t in bad shape. It should be noted so people don’t waste a day playing on a course that should not even be open for business. Very disgusted that I wasted my time and money playing there.
The new management has made a lot of improvements to the course and widened the fairways by removing trees. Had an awesome day on the course and look forward to future trips to Black Creek.
Where is the greens?
I played 18 holes here this past week and all the greens are tore up. It’s a mix between mud and sand. Wish I was told I wasn’t going to be able to put because I would have booked somewhere else.
NEEDS LOTS OF WORK
Greens are bad Sand traps are bad fairways are bad sand traps are dirt traps and tees need grass. other than that the course is great. They are working on it needs to get the greens playable with grass not dirt painted green and put sand in the traps not dirt level the tee boxes add grass to the tee boxes lastly improve the cart paths.
Very poor shape
I played this course last year and it was in decent - not good - shape. Today, only about 4 of the greens were playable. The rest had little if any grass on them. They were black dirt or fungus of some type. They were either very moist (where you could see the footprints of previous golfers) or dry (the black dirt was crusty). They were very difficult to put close to the holes due to the spike marks. This is the second time in the last few years I've played the course when the greens were unplayable.
The reason the pace of play was good was that there were few players on the course. Somebody tipped them off. Wish I had been as fortunate.
Good but still needs work
Course was good needs some work on sandtraps tee boxes and greens. The sandtraps are not playing as sandtraps more mud traps. Some tee boxes slanted and very little grass. Greens need help. But nice course I will play again soon.
I can attest to this review. A few months ago this was a course not worth playing. It is much better now. Definitely can recommend
