Dry Creek Ranch Golf Course

I have payed golf for a while and played courses in 5 states and two countries and this was in the top two worst courses I have ever played. I would never play it again and would never recommend it to anyone. The greens are bad and the fairways are even worse!

Very poor conditions with a number poorly designed holes. Took the “hot deal”. Should’ve spent more. Definitely won’t be back.

Went to play around to start the new year. It’s been wet and rainy so it’s obviously Cary path only which I total lay respect. On hole 6 the “owner” comes and starts screaming at me and my playing partner because for 50 yards I had veered off onto the fairway forgetting the cart path only rule. I had noticed as I was driving to my ball and immediately got back onto the car path. As I’m beginning to swing the owner comes yelling at me and my playing partner telling us he would kick us off if we do it again. I explained I drove on the fairway on accident and that I was sorry. The man continued to yell and scream like a lil type child. The greens are u terrible conditions teeboxes are dirt. And fairways a patchy at best. We were willing to overlook all of that but obviously this man has no business running a golf course. Worst experience I’ve ever had. I’ve been playing this course for 25 years and now unfortunately I’ll never be going back. Sad to see what was once a northern California hidden gem has turned into a resemblance of a half way house/ trailer park. If only you could give 0 stars. Please save yourself the time money and go anywhere else cause they probably don’t want your business. My player partners company just pulled their charity tournament they were holding there as a result.

On New Year's Eve, a buddy and I played Dry Creek GC in Gault. It was a cold, wet, and foggy day. The range was closed due to flooding. The putting green was open and in good shape.

The first tee box was in ok condition but did need maintenance (as others do - see photos).

The fairways showed a lack of maintenance. They had not been mowed for several weeks and had broken branches, twigs, etc., cluttering the course.

While the course is named Dry Creek, it wasn't - which is good. This year had been dry so it is good to see the rain and resulting water in the creeks and lakes.

The course has two new bridges, is well constructed, and looks great (see photos). Well done!

The greens show disrepair. The fungus has hit most of them, so putting was a challenge in most instances (see photos).

The cart paths also need maintenance (see photo). I had difficulty staying dry and mud-free while driving the cart.

After the round, we hit the cafe and bar. The food and beverage were good (see photo). The live fireplace is a nice touch.

Overall, I like the track. However, there are many maintenance issues to address. I look forward to returning after repairs.

Course conditions were ok, layout is good and some holes exceptionally long. But overall nice course. Talk about slow play that day is an under statement, they had a six some, five some that slowed everything down to LA traffic. Course needs Marshall’s to speed up play or limit to four somes. Took 4 hrs to get in 13 holes.

The puttering green is suck. Every greens has dead grass.

There is a serious lack of grass on the entire course, tees, fairways and greens. Believe this is a privately owned business so will be willing to wait for spring.

The greens, mature trees, and the course layout was spectacular. However the infrastructure and carts need to be brought up to par, if you will.

Course is in fair condition. Tee boxes a little ruff. Fairways same. Greens roll good. But, some greens are in need of repairs/replacement in areas.

There’s dead grass and dirt in the fareways. The pace of play is slow, too many tee times crunched together. Allows 5somes to play. There are literal mud pits on the greens and huge dead spots.

If this course was under different management and upkeep was a top priority, it could be a spectacular track.

It’s run down, the green are in terrible shape.

To start the owner charged me for my 4 year old son to ride with me this morning with my threesome. Said if i was alone it would be a normal rate. Course is in terrible condition. Most greens have flags and under repair or dead. Pace of play is slow. Carts are outdated and falling apart. I would not suggest this course to anyone at the rate they charge.

i feel that the round would have been a bit more fair if most of the greens didnt have a disease. it ma de for a tough true putt. Pace was good because of the lack of players on the course. I will return, but more likely it will be within the next 10 years since that was about when i played it last.

As long as you are playing fast enough there are no rules here. We were playing 2-3 balls a hole. This is also a great place to get drunk and no one cares. Honestly I would come back here again just to screw around but the greens are horrible. Seems like they're trying to work on some of them but they need to invest more into their grounds keepers. Fun course but not worth the cost for the weekends.
