Gilroy Golf Course
About
It might not have a lot of competition, but Gilroy Golf Course dubs itself as the "Best 11-Hole Golf Course in America." Built by local farmers and businessmen in 1923, this unique 11-hole routing east of Santa Cruz features small greens and wide, tree-lined fairways set along the Uvas Valley that has changed very little since its founding. Though not a full 18, the golf course is still plenty challenging, including the 245-yard par-3 8th hole, a scenic tee shot considered to be the course's signature. Gilroy Golf Course has suitable BBQ and outing facilities for larger groups.

Continued improvement
The course is constantly improving. Fairways and greens are improved since we first started at the opening of COVID-19.
Only problem is that more and more people are coming out to play the game, not a complaint.
As we came to start our second go around to get our 18 in, there were three foursomes waiting to start their first. We were able to do our second round although it was a lot of waiting but it was always good to get on the course.
Course is in better condition
I booked a tee time on GolFNow. I called to see how much it would cost to get our foursome a cart each because when I got my deal it was for walking the course. When we arrived the attendant was kind of rude making it very clear that we were not guaranteed a cart, Ibtold him we were aware and had our push carts in vehicle. They were plenty of carts and no further issue, just did not care for the lecture.
The course was in pretty good shape, I had played when they first opened up because of COVID-19. Pace of play was excellent, the fairways green as well as the greens.
We will definitely be back to play golf again.
Better condition
This course this course about 3-4 months ago and this time the overall condition was 100% better. Pace of play was a little slow but tolerable. Going back in another week to play with some new golf mates. Hope to have a great time once again.
Pace of play
No stater, to many 1 sums that didn’t want to pair up made pace of play horrible, played course before and it wasn’t this bad
Great for a weekday round!
Nice place for a quick round during the week. It can get busy in the afternoon but not too bad. Love the view from the 8th hole.
Local course
Nice course to go get some practice in, don’t be in a hurry as lots of beginners play here and it gets slow
Nice Course , Great Value!
This course is the one i frequent most. Great place to practice and improve. The price you pay for 18 and a cart is close to what you pay for some of the 9 hole courses in the area. The course is well maintained and the greens can be a bit of a challenge to read. I truly enjoy playing this course.
Excellent day
Course was in good shape. No food killed me. No beer cart sucked. Played the round with no food or energy. The weather was perfect except for the frost delay. To be expected this time of year

Very Nice 9 Hole Course With Options To Play 18
My first time here. Played 9 holes here after playing nearby Eagle Ridge in the morning. This is a full fledged golf course with full length holes, not some Par 3 pushover. Greens in very good shape. Staff about as friendly as you will find, and a killer little cafe that charges 1/2 the $ you would pay for the same quality food at a larger course. If I lived anywhere near here this would be my normal after-work and weekend stop to play and practice and hang out with some good people. As for the course, my favorite holes were the 6-7-8 stretch that winds back towards the clubhouse. When I return to this area to play golf I will likely stop in here either (a) to play a quick 9 as a warmup or just (b) grab a bite to eat and relax a little.
Gilroy golf course is always very welcoming and enjoyable.I have never been disapointed and truly enjoyed the round with my friends!

Nice course layout
Although the fairways were pretty dry , the greens were all in good shape. Especially liked the eighth hole-what a view! A good tee shot leaves you about a wedge away from the green.
Good course for beginners
The Gilroy course is an 11-hole course where you re-play some holes to make an 18 hole round. This is a fun course with mostly wide fairways that make it easier on beginners. Since it is partially hilly there are some challenges with sloping fairways and holes that make it fun. No water hazards but a few sand bunkers make for challenging approach shots. Some of the greens could use better maintenance but for the price you can't complain.
always enjoyable
Bruce is always helpful and accommodating of our needs. Our group plays here often. a really great value.
