Not what it used to be.
Course was in rough shape. Tee boxes beat up, fairways not mowed with bald spots, crab grass weeds and lots of ground squirrel holes. Weather was great, greens in better shape than rest of the course. At one time this was a top tier course. Sadly no longer.
Needs TLC
Rough fairways filled with crab grass. Restrooms were atrociously filthy. Ground squirrels rule
Challenging
This course has a great layout, but there are weeds in the fairway, in the rough, in the sand trap, and a few on the greens.
The course could use some water.
there are great views.
this course is challenging if you're a wild player if you can't keep it straight it's going to be difficult day. there are some narrow sections of the course , and honestly it is kind of hard to see your ball in the fairway they are not as smooth like most courses,it could be hiding behind some weeds. I couldn't recommend it for beginning players I think it could be fun for experience players if they know where they hit their ball.
Its been better but still a great course.
I went on a day where it was raining the day. I gor there a few minutes early not many people around. Checked in at the club house two gentlemen greeted me there. Explained to me that the carts are under a awning to keep them dry which was nice their was no Marshall. The greens were sadly beaten up due to no one fixing there ball marks. The bunkers were also unkepted and not raked. Still one of my favorite courses ive played. The snack bar was closed by the time i was done with my round at 3pm.
Good bones but desperately needing love.
When this course first opened it was fantastic. However the post pandemic has seen the level of maintenance decline. There was a time I played here monthly, now it is every couple of years hoping it will bounce back.
I will say that the bunkers are much improved compared to their state a few years ago. However tees, greens, fairways, and range have all declined.
And in a first for me, it seems that wedding parties can take carts on course for photos. During play.
Incredibly poor condition
Wow what happened? Almost $100 weekend green fee and there are weeds everywhere in the fairways and tee boxes, bare spots in the greens etc. on top of that we bought a medium bucket of range balls at 10:30am but there were no balls. And to top it off we teed off at about 11am and were done about 5:15pm. Yeah weekend rounds can be slow but over six hours??? Staff were very nice.
Eagle Ridge transition to Desert style course
Eagle Ridge is a wonderful Track but in below average condition. It's my recommendation that Eagle ridge transitions to a naturalist golf course with a Single line targeted irrigation system that can substantially shrink the irrigation footprint of the golf course and make it easier to maintain. By transitioning to a naturalist style golf course, Eagle ridge will save the City water while simultaneously allowing the maintenance staff to BEAUTIFY a smaller portion of the golf course and make eagle ridge more competitive with Cinnabar Hills and Coyote Creek.
Eagle Ridge needs help...
Played here about a year ago and it was in good shape, not anymore. Cigarette butts on the ground, range in bad shape with old beat up balls. Weeds and neglect everywhere. The woman in the Pro shop never even looked up at us once and we were the only people there. Seems like a money issue cuz there were very few maintenance people and an obvious lack of spraying and mowing that had taken place anytime recently.
Not what it used to be :(
Played here many times in the past and it's sad to see it in it's current condition. Weeds growing around the greens, rocks in the sand traps and many bald spots on the fairways.
Single line irrigation
Eagle Ridge is a wonderful Track but in average condition. It's my recommendation that Eagle Ridge transitions to a naturalist golf course with a Single line targeted irrigation system that can substantially shrink the irrigation footprint of the golf course. By transitioning to a naturalist style golf course, Eagle Ridge will save the City water while simultaneously allowing the maintenance staff to MANICURE a smaller portion of the golf course and make Eagle Ridge more competitive with similar golf courses in the Santa Clara county
Course Great GolfNow Inflexible
This is about the difficulty in making changes, GolfNow's inflexibility. I requested a 20-min earlier tee time and was told it could be done by canceling my existing tee time and purchasing the earlier tee time. The existing paid-for later tee time would be credited to me for future use but could not be applied to the new earlier time which is considered a separate purchase. And by the way, this credit can only be applied to the specialized "hot deals" only. Only those designated hot deals, but not the regular times.
And oh by the way, the cost of the new tee time is $60 higher than yours.
We decided to keep out later tee time ;(
Not like it used to be
Needs a lot of work. It used to be a really nice course.
It is not worth $95 to play now.
Muni in a Gates Community
The golf course is located in a gated community with million dollar homes. However, the golf course condition is like an average municipal golf course. Santa Teresa golf course in San Jose has better Fairway conditions than Eagle Ridge. For the price, it should be in better shape. The fear is that the course will be improved and then the rates will be raised to the public just to bring it up to a normal standard. 41 and hole 10 are straightforward, but the remainder of the golf course is difficult. There are narrow fairways with overgrown trees and some areas that make the tea shot even more. The course could use a good trimming and better fairway maintenance.
Great course
Played with a local and found a great golfnow deal for around $80 @ 10 am on a Sunday. Pace was good at about 4:15. Course had a great layout with a few holes surrounded on one or both sides. Most holes traveled through the hills and had a peaceful setting. Most holes penalize a right miss, so allow for room to the left. Green ran pretty well for the most part and were fast enough but not crazy speedy. Fairways were pretty good with a few bare spots and we occasionally rolled it over to a less bad lie. Bunkers had good amout of sand for the most part. Layout was great- just make sure you play the right tees for your distance or skill level. Very enjoyable day and experience.
Homes Better Than Golf Course
Eagle Ridge is located in a gated community with beautiful million dollar homes surrounding it. However, the course condition does not match. Santa Teresa Golf Course in San Jose is in better shape than this track. The course is difficult enough without bare spots in fairways and a lackluster driving range with no bunker practice or chipping practice area. Again, San Jose's Santa Teresa Golf Course offers more practice amenities and better condition that Eagle Ridge and is on par as far as price for play including golf cart. The fear is that the condition will be improved and then the public will be charged a premium for it being brought back to par.
Chill
These 20 and 30 handicap act like if the course isn’t in Augusta national condition it’s a bad course. This is a good course. It is in good condition. The greens roll pure and it’s a good challenge. All these negative reviews are so overrated. These guys have no idea what they’re talking about.
