Pace of Play
Packed on first tee despite reservation. Need to stagger groups going out. Good if you want to play nine in 2 hours.
Great practice course or a quick-ish 9 rounds
Love Glen Oaks. The range is great with almost all of the bays being covered and the ability to use TopTracer. The course is a par 3 course where you can get some iron practice in.
It's not the fanciest course or anything like that but it's a very chill course with no strings attached. People take their kids on the course, play solo, or play with a bunch of their friends (more than your typical 4).
Go there with no expectations. Sometimes a solo 9 hole round can take 1 hr, sometimes it's 2.5. Sometimes the group ahead will let you play through, sometimes they won't.
In my opinion, that's what makes Glen Oaks a great place for golf.
Good course to work on short game. Didn’t try range but looks awesome.
Why have Golf Now?
Set a tee time for 4:20 because it was a Friday. Arrived on time and they told me a group of TWELVE had just started playing. I Didn’t tee off until 5:15. This course is short enough to complete around the 1 hour mark. Pace of play was so bad (wonder why?) I didn’t even have time to complete 9 holes. Had to quit on hole 6 at 6:30. Glen oaks, why use golf now if you’re going to put TWELVE people in front of a solo? And of course the large group refused to let me play thru. It’s cheap for 9 holes, ya get what you pay for I guess.
The Driving Range is the only thing worth coming for.
Nice par 3 course
This is where I learned to play golf over 40 years ago. I used to play it a lot back then, but haven’t played here since the late 80’s.
While the layout of the course has changed since my last time here, it was still fun, but preferred the old layout. The new layout ( not sure when it changed) has too many fairway crossings that can be hazardous.
Although we didn’t use the driving range, it has also been updated and look very nice.
Par 3 Course
What I like most is that the greens are decent. They roll nice and appear to be healthy. Tee boxes and fairways are so-so.
Worst thing about playing here is that they sell a round to everyone who wants to play the course and there really are no tee times. You go to the first tee and wait your turn to play. If someone wants to play as a one-some, they play alone. Next up wants to play as a two-some, they play with only 2 golfers. So it tends to stack up for a few holes before it starts moving the way it should.
Fun little par
My only concern about this course that is pretty congested so plenty of times you're aiming at a green that's very close to other people playing other holes. The chances of getting hit by a ball here are way higher than other places I've visited. Great price and nice staff. Worth a visit for a fast paced 9 hole.
Very inexpensive course to practice for beginners
We are beginners and really want to get better but we don't want to spend too much money to go on the course. this is a good place to practice.
Condition of the course is not very good.
However, the price is really inexpensive.
We had a very slow group of 5 in front of us last week. So the speed was very slow, but we still finished in 2 and half hours.
For the price, I will definitely recommend this place for beginners.
