Golfer Reviews
Amazing value with spectacular views.
This course was incredible and such an amazing value at $59 with a cart! Spectacular scenery and views. I will definitely play again when I come back to visit my parents.
Nice Foothills Golf Experience
Elevation changes throughout and mostly uphill approach shots really extends the length of this track. Very nice conditions across fairly wide fairways. The rough is a bit too punitive and deep so you might want to take a few extra balls. Greens very true and full of interesting slopes but a bit slow on this day. Somewhat out of the way location but worth the trip.
Beautiful Foothill Course
The elevation changes at Alta Sierra will really fool you. You must be prepared to club up and down for the fairly steep routing the course takes. Conditions were excellent and pace of play was 4 hr 15 min. I think this course is the best value for challenge and scenery I play. Recommended.
Alta Sierra GC very enjoyable & very Mountain Golf-like
Played Alta Sierra GC for the first time last Saturday. Really enjoyable. Most holes are either uphill, downhill, dogleg left or dogleg right, some have both features making a majority of the holes interesting and quite challenging. The course reminded me of playing several Mountain golf courses in Lake Tahoe and Idaho I've played in the past. Almost every hole had pine trees guarding the left or right side of the fairways or both. The course rewards straight hitters and those in control of their ball flight. Those golfers that have 2-way misses going on are not going to score well here. Alta Sierra GC has a good mix of long and short par 4s and long/medium/short par 3s.
Pace of play was slow for a Saturday & course is pretty dried out adding some distance to long iron shots and drives. I walked the 18 and that was a good workout due to all the hills and slopes.
Cart fee was wasted since entire course was cart path only.
