Geese poop
Love this place. It is tucked away in the Sierra foothills & playing golf where the air is clean & life is laid back is a dream come true. It's nice to get away from busy Sacramento for awhile. The course was challenging yet do-able enough for ladies (me). Friendly staff & clubhouse was large & clean. Well manicured course except hole 15 had tooo much geese poop on the green. But all in all a great day. I'll be back!
Nice course in the pine trees.
Fairly easy course, wide fairways, not a lot of hazards. See deer on course every round.
First time to this course but will be back for sure. Very well maintained, full of wildlife, and challenging but fair.
Great Golf at Alta Sierra Country Club
I had never played the course so I decided to play from the gold tees. Watching my ball fly in the air at this beautiful golf course was amazing. I had some difficulty trying to read the greens. They were wet and I am used to putting on fast greens. Nonetheless it was Awesome !!!

Wonderful scenic course with Lots of elevation changes, make many holes play longer that their yardage. big greens large traps, which tend to be wet coarse sand. It has always been a challenge, but not an unfair one.
Dream course
So lucky to find this course on GolfNow! Beautifully nestled in the foothills. The course is extremely well groomed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Course was challenging as there are many slopes but fun. I would definitely play this course again.

Great golf course
Alta Sierra has always been the perfect way to have a great day golfing and spending time in the beautiful foothills!!! You can never miss out here!!!
fun course
played in 4 hours--fairways were pretty dry so we got alot of roll--greens were faster than usual but good overall--a lot of goose poop on some holes and lots of deer hanging around
Very Nice Sierra Course
This course is beautiful and pretty well maintained. Like any mountain course there is some draining issues that they will hopefully figure out one day. So you do have to deal with too soft greens and maybe losing a ball in a mud pit. Despite that one thing this course is awesome and I will be back. PS 30 balls does not a large bucket make!
Needs Help
I love this course. It's a short, but challenging, layout. They have a myriad of maintenance issues however. It wasn't mown, the fairways were patchy, the bunkers nearly unplayable and the greens were very slow. I heard they hired a new Pro and maintenance man so I wish them luck. I was fortunate that there was very few golfers out so I completed my 18 holes in 2:10!,
Awesome course
This is a gorgeous looking course, it's very hilly and has lots of elevation changes, and I like that.
There is a lot of wildlife and the scenery is awesome.
