Golfer Reviews
This is a beautiful tract! Each hole has a totally different lay-out.
The staff is awesome, & the grounds were in excellent condition! Would like to play Alta Sierra C/C again soon!
Mad mud
Alot of the holes was saturated, only hole I really disliked was the 18th even though I somehow managed to par. Definitely a summer course but I still recommend this course.
Country Club Experience - start to finish
First time playing this course. Course was in great shape. Pace of play was great. Challenging course, so need to be sharp in all aspects of your game.
Great day in the foothills
Great day. Course is in good condition for early season. Tight course.....short in yardage, but requires precise quality shots.
Pretty nice course
This is a nice course, the only thing negative is that the fairways need to be mowed, it was like being in short rough. The greens were pretty good, a little slow and I only saw one green that had a really bad spot, likely due to snow and lack of sunlight. The driving range is mats only, so the range balls I bought were fairly useless, I don’t like hitting irons off the mats and the only way to hit a driver with a tee was to push a short tee into the mat, which wouldn’t be bad, except that tee flew off the mat and down the hill.
Little gem that needs a little work
With the outdated decor in the clubhouse you can tell that this place was is in its prime some time ago. With this said the driving range and practice green are fantastic to get the game dialed and all the staff are very friendly and accommodating.
The course on the whole has a nice layout but work is needed on fairways. I often had to place my ball as it would sit in a hole on the fairway.
This is a fantastic little gem of you are in the area and get out there to support the course as they do not seem to have the traffic that they need.
Be sure to check out their happy hour, with this said they could do with a drinks cart somewhere on the back 9. One of the locals was very kind to give us a couple of beers when we asked him if there was a drinks cart, so 10 points for the localism score!
Great course ! Only drawback was 6 of the Fairways where under repair so cart path only ! Other then that recommend it highly .
Nice scenery
Soaking wet however I played in the summer too and the greens were still brutal. Beautiful scenery, cool elevations make this a good fun course.
Nice Feeling
This is a nice course with a spectacular layout. The wind rustling through the pines gives the round a nice feel. The course is a pretty good shape. The only thing I would say to help improve is to have a Marshall to monitor some play, especially at the 10th tee where a group was “just messing around” and held up play for 5 minutes.
Great course,,,but very slow play due to a couple 4 some's in front of us,,,uggghhh
Great course and layout
Had a great time at Alta Sierra. The pro shop staff was excellent allowing me to get out a little earlier to avoid the backup. The course is one of the best I have played in this area.
No food service on tuesdays
Course was nice and we started out with no one in front of our twosome. By time we hit 11 tee box we ran into a few foursomes with a super slow pace. As far as the food situation we showed up a little early to eat lunch before we went out, but we was informed by the bar tender that Tuesday was a prep day for the kitchen so they was not serving any food.
Alta Sierra is a nice design
The day that I played this course it was hot I mean 110 degrees hot. There was no wind or clouds however I was very impressed with the course. The clubhouse was good as well as the dinner outing that I had. Some of the fairways were a bit try but California is in a huge drought. 8 and 9 where great holes 9 is a tough ungelated fairway and green. The bunkers where in great shape. On this course you have to make your 60 footers close and good lag putts or your dead. The food and drinks in the bar are great. Overall this course is in the middle of no where but it is a good course of anybody for all skill levels.
