Alta Sierra Country Club

Overall enjoyed this course and will come back. I thought the greens were not bad but they do have some issues with some type of fungus. It happens and it only affected 3-4 holes significantly.

Alta Sierra is challenging but fun. Variety of tee locations for every level. Elevation changes add to the challenge. Excellent experience for the money. Pace of play could be faster but a minor criticism.

Pretty place, rolling hills and lots of beautiful trees . A nice place to golf and just look around

Overall for winter golf pretty decent shape. Greens recovering from fungus. Tee boxes need work.

The course was very dried out and fairways are have large bare spots. Several greens are in bad condition with large bare fungus spots with no grass and sand spots.

Pulling up to the 18th tee box and the guy at the front desk drove up and asked if we were doing donuts on the 17th and there was a solo player behind my group who was a regular member from what he told me, and said he saw a group of people doing donuts as well but said it wasn’t our group. But the employee believes the solo player who probably was irritated about pace of play and falsely accused our group of damage to course. There was no signs of donuts at all. Maybe you guys need a Marshall to drive around. Won’t be returning

I haven’t played Alta Sierra in awhile and booked it Thursday 1/16/25 and the course was in good condition, and staff is great! This course is challenging, but new players can try their luck golfing here! Not too narrow and not super wide! Just right for all types of golfers! I would recommend to anyone. Only negative was the grass by the pin had that grass disease that leaves pock marks so your ball will skip when putted. 👎 Lots of friendly local people up there too. 👍

Not entirely sure how this course gets off calling itself a "Country Club".. it's far from it. Every single green on the course has damage. Big sand filled spots on every green, w/ hole 18 being the worst. The tee boxes are horrendous. Like the greens, mostly sand filled... w/ little to no grass. Honestly, I don't think anyone would complain if they just threw down some turf mats on every hole, so the tee boxes can recover for the next 9 months. Tee to green this course is fun. You'll hit every club in your bag, and be required to hit every shot in golf. Would I return? Yes... but not on a regular basis. This is a 1-2 times per year course, just to switch things up.
