BridgeMill Athletic Club
About
Bridgemill Athletic Club in Canton has a varied landscape that provides an interesting mix of holes ranging from flat and wide open to undulating and tree-lined. The layout isn't characterized by a specific feature but instead lets the lush, rolling terrain remain the focus. The well balanced golf course features numerous sand bunkers strategically placed throughout and water hazards also come into play on a few holes. The distinct 16th hole with its island green is known throughout Atlanta. This par 3 appears intimidating but it is more playable than it looks. Players of all skill levels stand a good shot at reaching the green. In addition to the golf course, Bridgemill Athletic Club offers a driving range and short game area as well as 25 tennis courts and a two-acre aquatic center.

Varied layout with quick greens
BridgeMill layout was woven well throughout surrounding housing community, and the absolute variety of holes are a joy to strategize about and play. The greens are quick and fun in all weather conditions, keeping players "in their toes" with the putter in hand.
Having played in cool winter temperature during an atypically rainy season, the course suffers greatly (as most do) when in "sopping wet" conditions. Otherwise, the only highly visible complaint would be lack of marshall fortitude to keep pace moving (which might sometimes involves ushering players "thru" slow-playing groups).
Leaves
This was our first time on this course. For starters the tee boxes and the fairway were covered in leaves. I understand its fall heading into winter, but it's like they didn't even try. For the money I expected more on the upkeep of the course. Other than the occasional bathroom you pass next to someone's house or water jug, the only place to get anything to eat or drink is the clubhouse. As far as the staff goes, probably the nicest I have ever dealt with. From the people behind the counter when you checkin, to the gentleman that gave us our cart, the marshals making sure the game kept moving, to the guy that offered to give me a ride to my car when I dropped to cart and off.
Thank you for your honest 4-Star review, we appreciate the feedback and your patience as the course is transitioning into the Winter months. Thanks for coming out and we hope that you will give us another try in the near future.
Great course and layout
I love this course. It's an awesome layout. Challenging from any tee box. Beautiful course, too.
Two issues. First, the group in front of us was awfully slow. It was cat path only, and one would hit and then the other get out of his cart to go hit. And I don't think the marshal said anything to them, either.
Second, there are a lot of pitch marks on the greens. I can't believe that people won't fix their marks. The greens are fast, and roll true. But the other golfers need to do better about fixing their pitch marks.
Thank you for the 5-Star review! We are so glad that you enjoyed your challenging round today. Thanks for coming out and we hope to see you again soon.
Nice course, snail's pace
The course is very nice overall, perhaps a little expensive. My primary complaints rests more with the several rangers and their difficulty with enforcing the rate of play. It was a regular occurrence for my group to sit and wait for 2 groups ahead of us to move along. It was so bad that the group behind us made a complaint about us, prompting a ranger to basically follow us for 3 holes. This was not only distracting, but a total waste of time as it was clearly the fault of the foursome two groups ahead of us. At one point, the group trailing us started hitting into us while we were waiting for people to leave the greens. We informed a ranger, but he did nothing about it.
Like I mentioned, this is a very nice course overall, marred by a horribly slow rate of play. If you have a nice occasion, and 5+ hours of free time, I'd recommend it. Otherwise, go somewhere else.
First time delight
Great layout, great condition, though recently aerated greens. Like the elevational changes, fairly flat greens. Definately on our list to play again.
Good course condition and pace of play
We played on a Saturday which is prime time for golf. Course was busy. The starter was very friendl Andrew helpful. Rangers were all over the course to move the players, which was good to see. What could have been a 5-hour round ended up at around 4.5 hours, which was great. Kudos to the rangers. Course is in great condition. Fairways were lush and greens were true.
Great course
First time playing Bridgemill even though I live 20 minutes away. Course was in great condition, except for the many unrepaired ball marks on the greens. I will say this is not just a problem at Bridgemill. I see it at almost every course I play. Staff was very friendly. Knowledge of the course is a must. We were lucky to be paired up with a member who told us the layout of each hole. Very impressed with the course/staff/amenities. Will definitely be back.
Good value
Very well kept course. I have played it often. On rare occasions pace of play can be an issue. But a great value and nice practice facility.
Similar to TPC sawgrass
If you’ve ever had the chance to play TPC sawgrass, you’ll see a pretty big resemblance between these two, in terms of course layout. The fairways were in excellent condition aside from one or two wet spots, which is normal in Georgia this time of year. The greens could use a little work. It is clear that the course gets a good amount of play on a regular basis, I’m sure the superintendent has his hands full. That being said, pitch marks on the green were a problem for me, and just regular wear and tear that can be taken care of with a reel mower and an over seeding. Overall great experience.
Best course this side of Atlanta
Course is in fantastic shape. Anything under $55 is a great deal for this course
5+ hour round
The course is in pretty good shape but the pace of play was horrible. It took over 2 1/2 hours to play the front 9 and roughly 5 1/2 hours total. We waited on almost every hole/shot. The "rangers" could care less. They drove past use multiple times during the round and just smiled and waved, not sure why the course is even paying them.
Slow Play
Always love this course but was 'treated' to the slowest round of my life last weekend. Over 5 hours to play 18 holes. One of the par 3s had 3 groups backed up at the tee box. Unacceptable! Either spread out the tee times a little more or have the rangers actually enforce pace of play. I saw the rangers 5 times during the round and all they did was apologize for the "brick wall" of several slow groups in front of us. I'll give it one more chance but will have to find another course if this continues.
Greta round
Excellent course, Great service. Greens were great. Recommend you play now.
Great Track
Played as a sing with another single. Ended up joining a twosome and everyone was great. Staff was very friendly and worked to keep everyone on pace. Sad that I’ve been near here for 3 years and it’s the first time I’ve played. Will be back...maybe as a member.
Another 6 hour round at bmill
Either over booking the course or pairing beginner golfers with low handicappers. It's always a slow long day their.
Excellent Greens if you like fast
Very smooth and fast greens. Lots of hills and sloping fairways. Demands accurate shots on every hole. 16 is an island green. Always challenging.
