Oak Mountain Championship Golf Course

I highly recommend this course,outstanding condition,beautiful homes all around course but do not come into play but on a few holes,the landscaping is beautiful,you can tell there is a lot of detailed work is being done.The golf course fairways are dormant but all the same,greens are fast,same amount of sand in all traps.I will return.I live in Newnan,Ga and this course is about a 40 minute drive from my home,but will play many more rounds here.

Played Jan 19th. Course was in really good shape considering the amount of rain we have had. Traps were in great shape and the winter greens were quick. I like the layout and I like the elevation changes. I will play this course again.

This is a very challenging coarse and is in great shape. We play after 3 days of rain and it was cart path only but the coarse was not to wet. This coarse had some tight holes and some wide open holes. This is a must play coarse.

Played the day after heavy rain and the course was cart path only and was very playable. The GREENS were extremely fast and you did not want to be above the hole. Great layout and a fair challenge for any level of golfer.

Great people make a difference anywhere you go. The staff at Oak Mountain really make you feel comfortable. Another comforting aspect is hitting in the fairway and knowing you'll have a pretty good lie. The course is very well taken care of and the greens are some of the best.

Great golfing experience. The pace of play was excellent and the course was in top condition. Greens were putting true.
I took a buddy who has a CannonGate Membership and he was impressed. He wants to return soon.

The course is always in great shape...Never any hold ups and the members there are always friendly. They will invite you to play with them..Always find a very good group of guys.

This is a good course and in great shape. It is challenging but still playable.

Had heard good things about this place, decided to give it a go. Very fun and interesting course, no 2 holes played alike. A lot of calculations needed, like one long par 5 that I decided the best play off the tee was a 5 iron! A few holes definitely forced you to think ahead 2-3 shots. Great condition and the greens rolled supremely well. Turf was excellent all around, even this late in the fall, despite not being very green. I was skeptical about driving so far for a $40 round, but I felt like it was worth it. Great views, the place must be stunning during spring and summer.

Joined up with two members for an enjoyable round of golf. Each hole has 5 tee boxes for every level of play. Some of the par 5's have a variance of approx 100 yds depending on tee selection. Greens a relatively fast to putt but hold an iron shot in very well. There are some hidden hazards so it helped to have someone familiar with the course. Sand traps are well placed and well maintained.

For starters the course is a little longer than most courses found inside the Atlanta perimeter. The course will punish you for a bad drive off the tee, but majority of the time you can find your ball within the trees that line many fairways. Again, the course is fairly long, so beginners will be punished for mishits. The greens are often guarded by bunkers and again beginners will be punished for poor short game shots and chips. The course is riddled with doglegs, and fairly tough greens. The course is located within a residential community and is a lot of fun to play.

This course is a championship course so it is a challenge for the average golfer, more fun for a low to mid handicapper. The course has beautiful landscapes. I played on 11/11/12. The staff member working the counter was Not pleasant at all. No personality, and rude. He had another customer come to the counter while I was finishing up and he was totally rude to a elderly gentleman. They definitely need some improvement on who engages their customers. But very nice facility. I also took my fiancé with me she doesn't play she just rode in the cart with me. I told the gentleman about it. He charged me $9.00 for her to ride only, after telling me not to worry about it. He made this experience start out in a very negative way.

I will be back. Great course and every type of hazard is represented but surprisingly only the lakes make your ball impossible to find. Very clean borders, ravines and other. Great fast greens. My first time to play here in 10 years. I have played over 100 courses in Georgia. I give this one an 'A'.

One of the best courses I have ever played at any price!

I've played almost all courses on the west side of atlanta except Frog and Chappell Hills Oak mountain is the best great course. best golf carts. Fairways are execellent and so are the greens very fast greens like putting on glass.

Top notch condition. Beautiful surroundings. Will play again.

Owner is very nice - met on range, colorful guy .....playable course and can get great value in afternoons on golf now
