Indian Palms Golf & Country Club - Royal/Indian
About
This course dates back to the 1940s and carries a powerful history. Dwight Eisenhower and John Kennedy played many a round at Indian Palms, back when it was called Cochran Ranch. Eisenhower loved the place so much, he wrote his memoirs at the ranch.
You might become enraptured with Indian Palms' past. But the course itself has very much moved into the 21st century.
Each of the nines carries its own personality. The Indian nine is the longest, with the most straight-forward holes. The Royal nine features water on eight of its holes. (Yes, your break from water is one hole total).

Good course
IPCC has greatly improved over the past several months. Just received new carts. Hanger 19 has great food and good value for the money.
Come play and enjoy it. Wonderful history and one of the oldest courses in the Coachella Valley.
Golf carts
In October we played here a number of times and had issues with the carts dying. Battery issues.
Once again it happened after we had only played 3 holes. After calling the pro shop 5 times and not getting an answer we had to get ourselves back to the clubhouse and grab another cart. There was no one there to help.
Later when we saw the marshal and we explained our concerns all we got was they are having problems with the phones.
After 9 we had to swap out the second cart as is it was dying as well and the lower battery indicator was flashing.
The third cart made it through the nine.
They definitely need to put some money into their carts. We had heard from other people in our complex (Indian Palms Resort) that they also had cart issues.
Course is in fair condition. They need to mark the tees better. Course was empty so great pace
In need of some TLC and new management
The course is in poor condition, fairways are dry in a lot of areas, the signage is poor, maps are poor, there is no working water fountains. Cart battery was fine but seat was taped together, empty water bottles and trash in the cart from previous players, little ice chest was full of water from melted ice, spilling water all over my golf bag. For the amount of houses there are in the country club it would seem like they would be collecting a decent amount of HOA dues. You would think they could put some money into the golf course. With some TLC and better management, this could be a very nice golf course.
Nice little neighborhood course
Nice track; was able to fit our foursome on a Friday morning with just a 24 hour advance rez. Friendly staff, local golfers.
Great golf for the $$
We played the ndian/Royal and although the India course seemed a bit rough (as in the greens), we enjoyed our back nine on the Royal. Overall, great time!
This was the worst course I have played this year. They do not maintain this course very well at all. The price they charge is ludicrous for the shape and pace of play..We would not recommend this course to anyone and will not be back to play it.
