This course is a great confidence booster! Greens are great, tee boxes were beat up in spots. This is a great executive course. Holes are not overly challenging but also not too easy either.
Fun course ....
Staff are always friendly and helpful... Tee times always on time..
great redo of Proshop/Travern....awesome.. great prices!!!
Glad I Came Back
Played about a year ago and enjoyed it. Finally had an opportunity to return. Aprons were deep and trim, inviting you to putt. Greens were great. Fairways in good shape. Lost only one ball--due to a hook. Never hit off dirt. Some bunkers are strategically placed but only found one. If you walk, as we did, there are more elevation changes than any other executive course I've played in San Diego County (a little hard on my wife's knee). Loved it!
This course has a private club feel
Course was excellent. Well maintained and challenging. The initial check in could be improved. If you haven’t been there before it’s confusing where to go.
Great Par 3 Executive Course
Played this course with my wife. Had a great time. The pace of play can be a little slow as most of the holes are par 3's, but it wasn't too bad. We finished all 18 in under 4 hours.
The greens were in excellent conditions. The holes that had fairways were in average, maybe slightly better than average condition. The rough areas lived up to their name, and had some patchy dead spots. The grass in the rough was that Hawaiian grass that grabs your club and twists it making missed shots a severe penalty. My knock on the course conditions is the tee boxes. Granted it is a par 3 course so most are taking irons from the tees, but the tee boxes were not large enough to take that abuse (so they could spread the tees around) and none of them were level with most having mounds and domes on them. It would be nice to see the course re-do the tee boxes making them 2-3 times as large, and leveling them off.
The "clubhouse" is a nice setup. Kind of reminds me of a micro-brewery, but without the brewery. But has that kind of feel. Had a bar, nice patio spaces, overlooking #1 tee and #9 green. The inside also has a simulator where you can hit your driver (there are few holes on the course that you can do this, and really none if you can drive >275yds). The bathrooms were also clean.
I enjoyed playing this course and will probably play it again, but I would look for a GolfNow "Hot Deal". The $23-29 I paid represented an average value IMO.
We played St. Marks executive as a threesome at
noon and finished in about 3 hours.
It is 18 holes, mostly par 3's with some level and
some hillside greens.
The greens were in good condition, fairways had
typical California spotty.
This is a great course for sharpening your short
game.
North County Favorite!
St Mark Exec is one of my favorite courses to play in North County San Diego. The course was in great conditions.
Had a fun time!
It was a pleasurable day at golf. No waiting. Noticed that there were water issues with piping. Some of the grounds were extremely wet.
Where is all the water coming from?
As usual this course is generally in good condition. However, this time there were several places that were very wet. My new shoes now have a high water mark on them. :(
Other than that and getting behind the slowest three-some ever the day was very enjoyable. We skipped NO. 6 to bypass the threesome since they were three holes behind when they started No.4. A marshal was needed to move them along.
Perfect weather fun course
Had a great time on a chamber of commerce day. 80 degrees with cool soft breezes. Course is fun size.
Good course for value
A great day to play golf. We played 18 holes in two hours without any problems. For a public course (par 3) the greens were in excellent condition! A great value for money. If you enjoy walking, you can cut your green fee in half.
Challenges your short game
Greens are in excellent condition with enough variation in surface topography to make them fun. Fairways and rough are well maintained.
Great Greens
First timer at St. Mark and I will be back. For an executive course, well maintained property with great putting surfaces that receptive, fast and smooth.
