Bad day
First let me say that I like this course and have played there several times. The last time I played it was very backed-up. There were 2-3 groups waiting ahead of me and at least 2 backed-up behind me. I love a course that lets you go when you’re ready but this day needed some managing to pace the players out. Having other players sitting or standing around watching me tee off is very uncomfortable and does not help my game. One last thing that happened this last round was, as we were waiting for the next tee box, the person two groups behind me caught up to the tee box I was at. He had a radio in his bag (like Caddyshack) playing rap music (not a fan). That was the last straw and I called it a day (only the 11th hole). I’ll go back but I’ll make sure it’s not on such a busy day.
I love what they've done with this course. It's well maintained and the new cluhouse is outstanding!
There's something to be said about the old country style clubhouse and snack bar. But, I must admit that with the new owners, not only have they improved the course and the maintenance, they've added a state of the art clubhouse. Kudos to them, - I plan to play a lot more often.
I love this course !
I live near this course and I'm glad I do. The layout is interesting, lots of evelvation changes and trees. Some holes are really short, but there are a few par 4s to let you bring out your driver.
Greens are in excellent shape, tee boxes were replaced not that long ago.
Good value.
Nice and easy. Conditions were fair. Tees and greens still poor from aeration.
Great Short Game Practice
Took my 6 year old and had a great time! He's learning the game and this course is perfect for us. I can work on my short game and the length of holes is perfect for him. A lot of fun and the newly renovated clubhouse is fun place to watch Sunday football post round.
We maintained course
Great place to practice your short game. About 60% of the time I was using either PW or 9 iron off the tee. The greens were immaculate and fairways were well maintained. I would include this executive course in my bi-weekly rotation.
Exceptional
Newly redesigned executive course with added par 4's for kids to seniors!
Great Place
Love this place. New club house with really good food. Staff are awesome and friendly. Course is well maintained
Excellent condition
Course was in great shape, greens are outstanding right now. Great executive course to work on your short game.
Course rehab looks gear
Course is in the shape I've ever seen . And all the work around the course looks great.
Great value
good greens. Decent fairways great people. Awesome drinks. And what a value. Got pretty bunched up but great experience overall. Come check it out
Overpriced
Played with my wife and daughter as they are both beginners and need to play executive course. Course was not very busy but teed off behind a fivesome consisting of an adult male, a teen aged boy and 3 other boys that appeared to be between 10 and 14. Waited on most holes while they scattered. While we were a threesome our pace was not overly fast. They had the teenager and 2 of the younger boys riding in one cart. Conditions were fair with several swampy areas which is strange during a drought. For the price you can find a tee time at a full sized course in at least as good condition. It is obvious to me that they want you to pay and go and take whatever you find on the course.
Worth Seeing
LOVE this course! I remember this course from years ago, WOW what a difference. The face-lift is amazing!
A beautiful executive course
I do like this short course.
But, June 21, the father's day, I booked the tee time through Golfnow.com, I was asked to pay green fee
$17x2 players, plus booking fee of $2.50x2.
Well, if we went to buy the tee time directly, I would only pay for $19x2 without booking fee.
St. Marks review
The course was in better condition than the last couple of times I played and the new Clubhouse/Golf Shop was finished and open.
The big negative was the pace of play. A golf course of this length should not take longer than 2 1/2 to 3 hours to play and it took the foursome I was with 2 hours to play the front nine, we had to wait on every tee box. I finally quit after hole 11 and left the course.
I will not return.
Wow, this place changed -- for the better!
First, the facilities have gone from a worn down building, to one of the nicest "pro-shops" I've been in. It's hard to call it a pro-shop, since it's mostly a bar/tavern now! I can't believe the renovation this place went though. New carts, new hole markers, and even a practice green now! Impressive -- after playing this course every so often for the past 15 years or so.
The course appeared in better condition from the last time I played (a year ago, when they just started tearing out the old buildings) -- the grass is actually green.
However, the greens were extremely slow. So slow that we were putting down slope and it still wasn't reaching the hole. Even other areas were difficult to get by on. Forget about bump and runs, more like bump and halt. Bunkers were a mix of nice fresh sand on some, and wet dirt on others.
The back tees were placed very far back, which makes for an incredibly intimidating tee shot. The holes are narrow! You don't want to shank it into a house's window. In fact, if you've never played this course, the front 9 is a skills test in not hitting a house (or car) on nearly every hole.
The course is always full of beginners which leads to some backups (we were the 2nd group of people waiting at hole #16), but overall it was a pleasant surprise, and a great deal. I do like the fact, on the back 9, this is an executive course you can use your driver on at least 1 hole (maybe 2 or 3 depending on your distance).
We finished in 2hr 40min, and that was with waiting on several holes for the groups on front of us.
Nice short course
They have totally revamped this course. It's a fun exec course.
Beautiful Course
Friendly staff and greens! Beautiful weather and some picture worthy holes...First time user and I will be back...
Face lift adds to an already fun course
The recent facelift was really well done and made an already fun little exec course better. The pace can back up when busy but nice, quick track with a mix of holes for every level of golfer.
