Always fun for practice
I always enjoy coming out to St. Marks exec. It's pretty well maintained and there is plenty of variety to keep your short game tuned up. I would have gave another star for course condition but the tee boxes were in pretty poor shape. I do understand it's hard to keep them up on a short course though. I would recommend this course to anyone who would like to get out for a little more than a pitch and putt, but does not have time for a full course. You even can get out your driver a couple of times if you like.
Needs a Marshal on course
St. Marks is an excellent executive golf course.
Fast greens, true sand traps. The only problem is they never have a marshall on course. Play can be very slow. They should also inform golfers of on going tournaments like yesterday. Normal play is about 2.5 hours. Yesterday almost 3.5 hours.
A great little course, excellent for beginners
This is a great little course, especially for beginners who don't need to spend $50 - $100 on a round while learning the game. All of the more experienced players are super friendly and helpful, with the exception of one annoying group ahead of us that slowed down the pace of play (they played as a six-some, so they took forever on the greens).
If you go out early, you can play 18, walking, in less than 3 hours, which is also nice. The greens can be very, very fast in the morning, especially just after they are cut. You want to stay below the holes to score well on this course. But, the greens are nice and big and there are only a very few places where an errant shot gets you in deep trouble.
Played it for my first time and then 4 more times this week
The course is super fun for an exec, and not as vanilla as the others around. Has fun challenges like doglegs, trees, elevated greens, water, fast and big breaking greens.
The staff is awesome and flexible... I'm always late and they take care of me.
It's so inexpensive I can play all the time
My new favorite course!
Nice
Nice course, but there are yardage information at the tee of each hole.
great little course
Fast pace fun little course. Great Value nice staff
This course has a little of every thing, got to use all my clubs.
For an Executive course this course has it all. Used all my clubs. Price was right. Online purchase, great deal.
Short but interesting, with decent greens
When I want a quick round, this is a good option. The greens are in decent shape and have plenty of challenging undulations. Most holes are short, but there are a couple where you can pull out a driver, if you dare. Lots of trees make it a nice shady setting. It's typically uncrowded, so no problem if you play a couple balls and even take some extra practice putts on the greens. Better than hitting a bucket of balls at the range, for about the same price.
Very fun course
We had a great time! Very fun and well taken care of course
Quick an Easy
I've played this course a couple times. The greens are always that great but if you want to play a quick and Easy course it's great.
The course is in excellent condition
Great course to improve your short game. 3 of the 4 PAR 4's are challenging and fun. Long drivers have an opportunity for an Eagle on 18.
Executive Course - St Marks
Lots of improvemtns being made on the course (new bunkers), removal of brush area adjacent to course is ongoing. Greens very bushy, not recently cut or rolled. Once done they will be very nice and fast.
Slow play, no marshalls on the course to speed up play.
Short game fun.
Good to go out with the bros for some relatively easy golf. Great trees/lots of shade/greens in decent shape/tee boxes average. Usually pretty quick play, Back 9 tends to backup though. It's always fun to end by driving the green on 18! Nearly eagled again. Recommend the $4 hot dog + soda deal at the turn. The (younger) dude working the 'pro shop' is very cool.
Good course for begining golfer
My wife and I play this course once in a while. It's been worked on since last time we played had couple of improvements. That's always good to see.
Great practice round value
For $10 you can't beat it. Alot of folks scoff at this course because it's not very long but I use it as a warm up for a longer course. Play all my shots without tee's and it makes for a good practice round.
Improvements a plenty
Looks like a lot of money is being spent to improve this old course. I cannot wait to see it shine again. For a while it has been an average to below average condition. I already see brand new carts, ball washers and more landscapers working than I've ever seen there. Looking forward to my next round there.
price
When I booked the t time it said it was 18 dollars per player, when we showed up we were charged 30 dollars per player. This course is definitely not worth 30 per player. I will never play their again.
Great little Par 3 course!
This is by far one of my favorite course to hit when everything else is jammed up. Everything is in order and the course is well kept. My only complaint is when I played on two Sundays back to back the pace of play was atrocious. 4 hours for a par 3 course is embarrassing! It all could of been alleviated had the course management not allowed a group of 6 go out ahead of us and of course the group that was drunk and we're more intent on playing dodge ball rather than playing golf.
Great executive course
Great course to walk with your friends. challenging holes & you can use your driver at least on 3 holes. Great course to work on your short games & greens were fast & great.
Love the Renovations
This little big course is very fun, challenging and a good workout if your walking. We are intermediate players and use all the clubs in our bag, even the driver on 3 of the holes. They have made some marvelous improvements, cart paths, brand new cart paths, really nice ball washers and trash cans. The greens are kept up nicer than some fancier courses and you can't beat the price. Love this course
