Very good!!
It's great to have such a great golf course just 10 minutes away from my accommodation.
Sad as always
There are 7 days in the week. $55 for a weekend rate compared to $38 during the week. It’s not like the employees are getting paid more on the weekends. The course is the same the whole week. Prices don’t change on the courses’ costs to run the place to maintain it. The only reason why it is priced more on the weekends is, the courses used to be more crowded on the weekends back in the day, and there would be fewer players during the week, so they figured out this price model based on demand - but that was in the old days. NOWADAYS, the courses are packed EVERY DAY. Yet the course is in the same shape every day, barely passable, even though they make more money on the weekends, so you would think they would have a bit more money to put back into the golf course conditions, to maintain it better. So how is it not????
How come there are dead, brown patches, or compete mud patches all over the course, hardly any grass, especially down the sides where the rough would be, like there used to be, when we used to play here 40 years ago, when we actually had thickish grass down the sides so the fairways were well defined, where we can see the difference between the fairway and the rough???
And then there are these hard-crusted dried mud patch patches immediately next to and surrounding the greens??? It’s been like that for a couple decades!!!! Decades???!!! You’re telling us that you can put a week, or a month’s, EFFORT to maintain those patches, by roping them off or painting a circle around them indicating a GUR so that people stay off them to allow them to grow back???? DECADES???? Are you kidding me???? You are charging people more than you ever have for the SAME conditions for a couple DECADES???!!!!!!
And then the greens…… don’t even get me started. Every other green is different. Some are soft and spongy, and others are firmish and bumpy like they’ve never seen a roller. But it’s been like this for DECADES!!!!
Can you imagine???? 2 decades is 20 years, that’s a WHOLE GENERATION!!!
That’s how LA is run. Look around you. Why do you think everything is such a mess????
Good luck tee times
It’s always difficult to get a prime time tee time but on those lucky occasions Grab It because Rancho Park is an Iconic Gem now that the sunsets around 4:45pm and is dark by5 pm a12:30 pm tee time was just perfect for an average timed round under 4 1/2 hours with some slowdowns on the back 9 nothing unusual ample time under the sun for an epic day we had besides shooting well the course conditions were great above average this muni course is not like the rest of them quality fairways well maintained tee boxes , bunkers, actual definition between grass cuts and the greens in immaculate healthy shape rolling out smooth and repairing well if and when you should repair them at All Times very important for you newer golfers who don’t learn proper course educat. The restaurant is still under construction but there’s plenty of places to grab a quick bite or enjoy a 19th hole excursion lol and don’t worry the staff never bothers you if you bring your own food and drinks to the golf course nvm the signs no one there reads them anyways hahaha, impressed with All the clean bathrooms and practice areas well worth the time & $$$$. Always a pleasurable experience at Rancho Park aka”Mini Riv”.
Decent course but 58 bucks for deal times now, imagine having the gull to think your course is worth more than a round at Sand Canyon and Rustic. 👎 do better
Rancho Park
Love the design of this course and pace of play is usually on pace for 4 hour rounds.
I will say the tee boxes were extremely beat up and were in spots they usually are not.
The whole food truck situation is less than ideal at the moment. Also know having the halfway house opened was a bit of a turn off as well.
