St. Marlo Country Club

We were a twosome and were paired with two other golfers. Which was fine. They were good golfers and pace of play was good. Course was in great shape except for about 2 tee boxes that were worn. Not an issue at all but I mentioned because the other two golfers who play here a regular basis were not happy about it. The course a challenge and long from the blues. One pa 4 was 440 yard's. Greens on the first nine were in great condition but a little slow. Green on the back nine had noticeable punch holes but was close to recovery. Everything was going great until the back nine until we ran into a slow group and it took a little longer to complete. Also our cart run out of juice on the 16th hole and we waited 10 minutes for the replacement cart. Not too bad but we told the other two golfers to go ahead and we fell back another group. All in all it was a good day of golf and I will return again.

Always fun to play. tee-boxes, fairways always good. Greens were firm, but a bit slow. Cart paths have gotten worse over time. Reasonable-to-high price to play, but convenient..

Nice course with various elevations make for an interesting layout. Probably not best for a newbie but anyone who plays reasonably well will find enjoyment.

Nothing negative to report. I played here a few weeks ago just after they aerated and things are going well. Not surprising for a public course a few areas green and fairways that need addressing. But nothing detracts from giving this a good review and good value for the money. I will be back

One of the best local courses! Great management keeps this place on a great track. Clubhouse is good, course is nice and challenging with decent greens! A regular favorite of mine :)

Next time let us know when the greens are punched - every putt was guess work

At leat tell players before booking that teh greens have been punched of late, no putt was rolling nor braking but otherwise the fairways are prestine

Course overall was in good shape. However greens were terrible......

Overall i enjoyed the course and look forward to getting out again soon.

I really didn't have any major negatives. They had recently aerated but i knew this before booking so not an issue. The fairways had a few sorts that could use work. But nothing that detracted for the play/experience.

Worth the visit. I will come back

- no carts ready - employees had to scramble to get a half-charged (at best) cart sprayed down and rushed to us so we could start right on time (stressful start to the day).

- no food to serve at bar

- pace of play horrendous (on a Friday) - no attention from starter on course to keep pace moving

- practice greens are in rough shape

IMHO, this is just simply an unacceptable experience for a COUNTRY CLUB with million dollar homes. If “short-staffed” is the reason (excuse) for this level of disorder - then I’d highly recommend ADJUSTING and finding a way to make it work. I (and likely anyone that played that day) will not be returning until I’ve heard from trusted sources things have turned around.

Nice course layout, but that’s about the only positive thing I can honestly say from yesterdays experience.
