Garbage
Took us three hours and 20 minutes to play a nine hole course every group was a group of five the starter gave me attitude when I showed up early we started 30 minutes after our teatime and the pace of play it was atrocious. Would never recommend this golf course to anybody also the price is a complete rip off for how much you have to wait. Stop over booking the course and maybe it’ll be a better experience for everybody.
Loved It, Great Little hidden Gem in the gear of North LA
Absolutely blown away by my experience. Will definitely be back. Gorgeous setting and fun course
4 hours to finish 9…
4 hours to finish 9 holes is horrendous. Other than the pace, it’s a sweet little course that is kept in good shape. 5 tops are allowed, and it bogs down to a pace hitherto unseen by these eyes. Every hole has no less than 2 groups waiting to tee off, EVERY HOLE. Insane, would not recommend, get it together Roosevelt.
The good, the bad, and the solution.
The good: a true value for 9 holes at $10-$16. Hard to beat. Nice little shop where you can grab a snack or a beer and relax after your round. Fun course with a few challenging holes. Lots of elevation changes and gorgeous views of the Hollywood Hills and the Griffith Observatory.
The bad: there isn’t anyone regulating who is teeing off on the first hole, and there isn’t anyone regulating the pace of play overall. So, the 5:00 tee time group (of 5 people) will tee off at 5:07, and then the 5:10 group (another 5 people) will tee off immediately behind them at 5:15, and then the 5:20 group (another 5 people) will tee off immediately behind them at 5:22, creating a nasty bottleneck for the entire round.
The solution: Charge $2 more and limit groups to 4 people.
An Old School Gem
I am writing this as the US open is being held at the Country Club, while this is not at all like that course, it does relate to it as it does have an old school feel where you have to plot your shots for your approach into the green. It is playable for all and be ready to lose some balls. The pace of play was average, but I think it was because of a group in front of us that was taking a while. Everyone else had a great pace and understood the rules of the blind shots. You need to go there with a lot of trust and confidence in your game and other people because of the many tricky shots. I will definitely go again. A true gem, but certainly appreciated by the locals.
Slow
While the course is beautiful and well kept, the pace of play is AWFUL. Perhaps it’s better on a weekday but I would avoid coming here on a weekend. It took us almost 4hrs to finish 9 holes. They allow 5-somes, something we were completely unaware when we booked. Additionally, parking is hard to come by.
Beautiful Golf Course
Hit toward the Griffith Park Observatory and It was fun to hit towards the buildings downtown. I enjoyed the round.
