Perfect Walk
Had such a great time looping it twice yesterday. The Course in such great condition and it is Sneaky Hard, demanding all of your skill and creativity to post a good number. I'm an Olympic Golf Member, but choose to play MVGC all the time because it a great local alternative that is a full, wonderful golf experience wrapping its way through the Redwood groves and creeks of Warner Canyon with Mt. Tam always above.
A gem in the neighborhood
For a peaceful 9 hole, it was a great way to spend 2 hours. A bit odd in the layout, but worth every dollar.
Beautiful surroundings but not a good play
First time here at this location! We where prepared for the bad reviews and did not expect too much. It was not much of a serious golf game for us, but more like a hike , which it felt like! The scenery was beautiful, but the condition was pretty bad! The grass was high so lost a bunch of balls too! It was very muddy allot of places throughout the course. Our shoes got drenched and wet! I don’t even want to tell you how my game went!
worst tee boxes EVER
enjoyed playing a round at Mill Valley but not likely to return ... for one simple reason ... the tee areas are completely unacceptable ... hard artificial surfaces that are impossible to get a tee into ...
Fun, Tough course
I have played Mill Valley since the early 80's and the current conditions are the best they have ever been. Although not a long course, there is plenty of bite. Small greens and undulating hills provide a good challenge for most. I always wonder why people who are just learning come here. It could be very discouraging. You will test your short game and given the way the greens are rolling, putting isn't a gimme either! It is a beautiful walk, enjoy before the rains come!
Not my cup of tea
Couldn’t easily figure out where the next hole was. Very hilly with no real fairways. Greens were fine. Couldn’t get tees in ground on couple holes. But hey, what do expect for 10 bucks?
MV GOLF
When you walk through the redwoods, and get views of the mountains, rarely does it include the word GOLF.
Take some time to walk this gem and play in a well situated (9) hole setting just north of the Golden Gate Bridge.
Quirky, decent but gourgeous
Great for casual scenic golf experience. Not for the golf snob. Course layout mountain type: side way , uphill down hill lies. Elevation changes. Greens rolled pretty decent. Good value especially for the scenery.
They need to replace the turf tee box. The first hole has plenty of space for grass. I understand some of the turfs tees since its hard to grow grass under the redwoods.
Great variety of elevation and challenge
This course has plenty of side lies and hills to deal with. Greens are in good shape but the clover is blooming heavily in the rough on many of the fairways making it quite challenging to find balls that stray. Staff are friendly and the beauty of the surroundings are nice. Good course to challenge your skills if you are used to flat courses. I recommend checking it out.
Tough track
Deceptively difficult 9 hole layout. Holes 3 & 4 challenging to reach in regulation. Most greens are slick postage stamps
Fun & beautiful
This short course is challenging and fun in a beautiful setting,
When 9 is Enough
Nice course and people playing very laid back. Not rushed play.
Be aware there is only one water fountain on course so bring water or just be aware of that.
A few tees could use some love, but for the price, it's a great course.
Atmosphere
This course really makes you feel you are in the woods because you are. I always feel good here
Great bang for your buck!
This course isn't a fancy country club course perfectly curated to your every wish, but you're also not paying for that. It's a great little locals course reminiscent of Fleming or Golden Gate Park-only much tougher due to the slopes.
You practically can use every club in your bag, which makes it all the more fun. Not to mention the better weather and spectacular mountain and forest views!
The course needs more natural tee box
Starter was rude and had problems with 2 of our foursome one left we all should have. I played here previously and it was great and well maintained not anymore. We will not go back.
