I haven't played this course in many years and to see it in the condition it's in is unexpected the Bunkers,, and I do mean BUNKERS like I was in a actually war Bunker, this was not the same course I play before.

Run down course
The only positive about this course were the greens. The tee boxes and fairways were in sad shape. There was no sand in the bunkers. For a place that has a sign saying it’s “Illegal” to bring drinks onto the course they should at least have a cart attendant for people to stay hydrated. This course should charge $25-$30 at most.

Slow
Slow green and super slow pace ! No Marshall! You gonna be looking for a 5-6 hour round
We apologize for the pace of play issue you experienced. We always try to keep a great pace when having our golfers on the course. VERY POOR CONDITION - FAIRWAYS ARE BARE
I’ve played Montebello a few times over the last year and today it was in the poorest condition I’ve seen it in. The fairways on many of the holes were mostly dirt and weeds. Most of the greens were in good shape. Their bunkers were as hard as concrete and full of weeds and Bermuda.
The young lady that works at the snack area is always very friendly and helpful. She’s a keeper.
This track is so perfectly located right off of the freeway and would be ideal if they could take better care of the course.

Worse fairways and bunkers ever
The tee boxes and greens are okay but the fairways are all dirt. The bunkers have no sand at all. The waiting area is crowded and lots of smokers standing around so forced us to stand in the sun.
I would not play this course if you pay me.

Rude Players and Stupid Marshals
I booked a tee time at 7:00 AM for my dad and I to walk 9-holes. On the first hole, the group behind me hit their drives before I got a chance to hit my second shot. On the second hole, one player hit a drive that rolled right by me, seconds after I hit my 2nd shot. While on the third hole a Marshal asked if I could let them play through. I was pretty furious at this point, but I agreed to let them play through. Right after I finished the 6th hole, another Marshal approached me. He asked if the group behind could play through too. I refused, because the group had just gotten to the tee box. I also explained that we were not playing slow and I had just parred the hole. I promised that if we held them up that I would let them through. The problem is that my and dad and I are walking and everyone else is driving a golf cart and are super impatient. They should not be selling tee times on golfnow.com and allowing you to walk. It just causes problems. I can't imagine how much trouble we would have caused these rude and impatient golf club members, if we had a foursome walking. We finished the nine holes in 1:40. Which is an 11 minute pace, which I don't think is that bad. We were celebrating my dad's birthday, but I had a horrible time worrying about the group(s) behind me. I will never play there again.
